darthspudius: The option to delete it would be wonderful. Nothing worse than looking like a tit if you've made a double post or something.
But how would you ever double post? I'm pretty sure most forums automatically prevent that.

Edited broken phrase.

Starmaker: You can't doublepost on GOG, the second post will be merged to the first one, which you can then edit.
Well I meant like posting the exact same article or something as someone else.

snowkatt: id like some more optiosn like colors
embedding pictures and videos and the like
there is barebones and the bare neccesities

the gog board feels like a bbs at times no frills no nothing

HypersomniacLive: And that's exactly the stuff I refer to when I said that it's a good thing - why isn't linking to pics and vids good enough?
I find forums that allow all that stuff, along with busy signatures and whatnot too noisy, too distracting and hard to read through threads. More is not always better.

If GOG ever revamps the forum, I'd prefer to see them invest time and resources to fix essential functionality, like a proper search feature and post-history, at least one's own post-history.
lesser is also not always better

what you call distracting is what i call lending personality to a post beyond writing ideosynchrasies and an avatar
a visual short hand for who is who

and peopel on here post links to video and pictures often enough that they might as well get imbedded thats what bare bones boards offer at least these days
Hey, we would be missing great life lessons.
Many people just do things because they can ; "unlimited coke at lunch tomorrow ? I will just not drink anymore for the next 24 hours so that I can cash in this great opportunity !"
Well, the core feature of life lessons is to bring a bit of remorse and regret, without those you wouldn't learn a thing and not seek perpetual improvement.
You made a stupid post, you can edit that out. Stupid thread ? I don't think anybody would say it's a rare thing.

Fun fact : with the last big things (free stuff, lucas arts ...) many people created more threads in their three first day here than me in ..... since the Dawg (the Dawn of GoG for those who don't follow)

Leroux: Just make a new thread explaining in detail what was wrong with your old thread. If people don't react well to it, create a new thread to apologize for the mistake of creating the other two threads. If that still doesn't work, make a fourth thread to complain about all the downrepping.

*evil grin*
Totes doing this from now on, thanks!
The forum is fine and all, I only meant posts like this:
http://www.gog.com/forum/heretic_kingdoms_series/shadows_game_gone

I created the topic in panic, because I got the 404 (page not found) error when I tried to check for the games website on GOG. Then I did a search in the games DB and couldn't find it any more.

Just when I finished the post I went to my library and it was back -.-

Now it just looks like bad reputation for the game, which is already bad enough for some reason and I don't want this to happen.

IMHO it was just a shitty release on Steam that crashed a couple of computers (as it does mine if I run the bloody Steam overlay on some other games like Dragon Age, which is a nightmare to install via Steam).

So, the number and kind of pics and videos one would or would not embed in their posts is necessary to get a feel of who one is, because what and how they post doesn't do the job? Not sure I follow.
