Green Man Gaming are currently doing a promotion where you get a game for the grand total of no pennies - free, gratis etc etc.

Yup, the game aint that good, and yup, you need to use their hideous 'capsule' drm client, but everyone likes a freebie, right?

The game is Necrovision : Lost Company - a very average FPS.

Green Man Gaming

I like Green Man Gaming for only one reason - they enabled me to get and play A.I.M. cheap. Awesome game, that one....also in the sale on there at the moment, can't recommend it highly enough....
I love these freebies from GreenManGaming because you can trade-in the game once the free giveaway is over.
Is this game DRM free?

Far from it. The whole service requires regular reactivation.
Green Man is dreadful. Really.

Then I'm going to pass. It seems like a short game so I don't think I'm missing out too much.
Thanks for the head's up, now i can try out the prequel to a very crappy FPS (if i remember what i read on it before :P ).

Personally I'm surprised that they're still going. I've actually got a collection of games there thanks to the fact that they do trade ins and regularly do freebies. The most I've spent so far is one penny. So because of that I don't mind so much that it really is a pretty crappy service (thanks to the DRM).

Now they even offer cash credit if you write a two sentence "review".
Not Exactly Free. It asks for a Trade In. Is this a Download Site or I send in my Original CD with Book, Box and CD's only to get them lost in the Mail. They do have some games that I have never seen before, and some possibly rare ones that I have been looking for. I would only use them to get games without Trade-In since I am actually a Collector of Games. I still have a Rare Original Baldur's Gate DVD that I got in Hong Kong for $15 Hong Kong Dollars. About $6.00 in US Currency. Great Deal.

Almost tempting. But I like the fact that my collection is something I didn't have to work or pay for. That's what makes it's rental nature easy to swallow.

No - its free (for UK at least!)....their angle is that once you have finished a game, you can trade it in and get some money back, to spend on the next game! Works best for freebies like this - once the promo is over there will be a trade-in value on it....I've spent a grand total of £1 on Greenmangaming, and I've played Darwinia, Uplink, AIM, AIM2 , and now Necrovision!!

It's a Download only site though - no boxes/ manuals etc...
Wasn't this one of the games they gave away when they launched? Or was that the origonal>
How do you give back a downloaded Game? I created an account with them, but they wanted $19.99 from me to get the FREE game. I guess since I never got a game from them, I didn't have one to trade. I will still keep tabs on what games they have to offer. Are their games DRM Free like GOG? Just wondering. Never Mind, read above where each game requires Activation. Oh Well...

The promotion lasted until Wednesday only.
