Ixamyakxim: I think I mentioned it before in this thread; I've been wanting to read this story for about 15 years now, but was scared off way back when by the notion he might never finish it. Knowing that the show has a "skeleton ending" sketched out took away my reservations about watching it. I still haven't read the books though, as I'm afraid I won't be able to contain myself and will fly through them - I'm having too much fun being surprised by the show to do that!
trentonlf: Books are much better, and you would probably fly through the first 3 pretty fast. Last two have dragged a little as he likes to chase rabbits, but I'll keep reading them :)
Better, yes. You just have to try and remember the 32,498 knights, hedge knights, thieves, kings, princes, nomads, priests, and lords that are in the books. It's funny, I've heard some people criticize the show for having too many secondary characters. If they had only read the books they might see the show a bit differently.
