Officially announced by now, coming in April 2011.

(Double barreled shotgun? Seriously?!??)
Gears of War is a series I never enjoyed that much. As a PC gamer, it feels like a step back. It's very repetitive if you ask me. Mass Effect 2's combat tried to emulate it and it just didn't work that well either. Taking shots from behind cover while regenerating when covered is so ... simplistic. Where's the tactics? The action? Sure it's more realistic but I just never felt it was the right direction to move in.

Insanity is the only way to play. ;)
Holy shit, what an amazing surprise!
Or would have been had it not been accidently announced on the 360 dashboard last week...
You do have to fight tactically as the difficulty increases, at least until you're riding the brumak and then it's all showy explosions & invulnerability regardless of the difficulty
I thought the trailer was cool for it. Much better then the gears 2 trailers.
Dammit.
Very, very good trailer.

Crassmaster: Very, very good trailer.

I find it a bit meh, to be straight. It is good, but nothing extraordinary like that 1st dramatic trailer for GoW1.
The Crysis 2 one that came out recently and follow this dramatic style was better, I think.
Well I need to see the gameplay first, then I'll judge GoW3. I just laughed at the presentation, sooo much new features: double barreled, women skins, game is more grey, darker than ever (I know, ashes, but...), look at the "pixel monsters" at the end of the clip when they are surrounded and the engine can't handle them at 50meters maintaining an overall high image quality, etc.
I couldn't even play through the first one, let alone the second and now a third one. "Cool I play a guy whose legs are bigger than his body killing aliens that have somehow just been chilling out in the Earth and chose now of all times to come out. BTW somehow if I reload in a quick and efficient manner my bullets somehow do more damage, that's neat and realistic <Sarcasm>"
And from what I have seen of Crysis it is just a tool for bragging about if your computer can run it or not.
Crysis actually gets a bad rep. Yeah, it was used as a tech demo (same as DOOM 3), but it was actually a very solid game.
The main problem was the way it was marketed. You were a guy in a nanosuit, so they market you as a super-soldier a la "Ahnold in almost any movie he was ever in (including "Twins" :p)". In actuality, you were a lot closer to JC Denton in terms of abilities. You could take a beating, but you still needed to pick your battles.
And, of course, as with everything Crytek makes: It all goes to hell when you stop shooting humans.
That being said, I am looking forward to Crysis 2, but I'll need a demo to see if the aliens play like aliens or North Koreans :p
As far as Gears: I like a lot of the things it did (if only because it took the things Rogue Trooper did and made them mainstream :p), but the atmo turns me off. You are playing well trained soldiers who have no concept of discipline or even aiming. Just got very annoying, since you were portrayed as elite combat troops who scored lower than Stormtroopers at the firing range during cutscenes. Plus, I didn't like a single character :p

I thought the same thing when I played it on my older PC. But after playing the game again on my new ASUS G71G lappy, I can tell you, all those bad talk of Crysis goes down in the water. Its quite a good shooter, and after the first few levels, it always keeps you rushing forward. Once the whole island goes to war, it gets awesome! :p

I really liked this Gears 1 trailer though.
I really liked the song in the new one. Ended up buying the album (by Sun Kil Moon). It's really, really good.

Yea that one is pretty good as well, I just didn't like the 2nd games red trailer thing or the windy hill one.
It's quite obvious Jimmy Fallon's target demographic isn't old people who so happened to wake up after a long nap in front of the TV.
