King's Bounty: The Legend, the turn-based strategy-RPG mix set in a beautiful high-fantasy land, is discounted by 60% on GOG.com for the next 24 hours!

In the fantastic realm of Endoria a freshly-knighted nobleman swore an oath to his king, thus taking on the mantle of the Royal Bounty Hunter. Little did he know of the numerous adventures that the destiny had in store for him. There were great battles to be fought, lands to be conquered, armies to be led to glory, villainous tyrants to be overthrown, and beautiful ladies to be courted. But even the greatest things have small beginnings. Assigned with a small squad of recruits, the youngster was set free into the land to seek out bandits and monsters to slay, treasures and magical artifacts to claim, and princesses to save. And so, a lifetime of glory and valor began for our gallant hero.

King's Bounty: The Legend plays a lot like a Heroes of Might & Magic game. But calling it a simple clone would be unjust. Saying that it's a "genetically enhanced clone"--as one of our users called it--would be much more fair. The gameplay is full of unique ideas and the high-fantasy setting of the game has a very distinctive feel to it. With countless hours of gameplay, innumerable tasks to complete, giant world to explore, and a great variety of enemies to defeat, this gem of a strategic-RPG truly deserves your attention.

Shiny up your armor, saddle your white horse, and set off towards your next fantastic adventure in King's Bounty: The Legend, for only $3.99 until Thursday, September 6 at 10:59 AM GMT.

SLP2000: How about releasing Armored Princess? It's about time.
+1 and Crossworlds...

On topic, excellent game, recommended for those who like strategy games.
King's Bounty: The Legend is one of the very few games that I finished more than than twice (four to be exact). Each play-through is about 60-70 hours (if you want to finish every quest and fight with every enemy). Each play is different - first because different class means different style, second because playing on hard and then on impossible is challenging for your brain and thirdly because all enemies, treasures in chests and rune stones are randomized! Highly recommended for anyone who enjoyed HoMM series (especially 3rd) or who is looking for a fantastic combination of turn based strategy and RPG.
It's very long game, and at some point it may be a little bit too long (as boring), but apart of that, it's very good game.

I agree with Armored Princess - that is a very good game (and the Pirates theme is good as well) and I like the pet dragon very much and the idea with medals for in-game achievements was just brilliant! I don't think that Crossworlds will be on gog anytime soon, because it was just an add-on and wasn't epic like The Legend and Armored Princess. But what is more important I WOULD LOVE to see Warriors of the North on gog, because I don't like to buy from steam or gamersgate....
Good game, I found some of the battles in the land of the dead (or something like that) a bit hard. Probably down to my own bad tactics. Shame life got in the way and I still haven't finished it.

I like this game. Only that after I was starting to play the elves world, my PC suddenly died. After I got a new one and re-install the game I still can't restore the game saves (overwriting doesn't work...) So I have to play it over from the beginning again (this time choose another class) and now I am only at the place where I got ended last time.

I don't know there will be a game coming up for this series, thanks xep624 for letting me know, will pay attention to it.
Worth it at full price - if you don't have it already then buy it now!

I'm hoping we can see the other King's Bounty games here soon

Highly recommended! If you liked the combat system of HoMM, you will love this game.

If you find it a bit difficult, just play as a mage. In fact, magic is almost too powerful in this game. Once you get the armageddon spell, you can complete the game with just one black dragon as your army.
Already have it here, Gamersgate and Steam.
Yes. I am crazy. :>
Also: Still waiting for the expansions to come here

Come on GOG!

SimonG: Wasn't this the very first GOGs Gem promo when GOG started those?!!

keeveek: You're old.
You were here when SimonG realized this was also the very first GOG promo?

You're old.
The worst thing is they ditched the kingdom managing part from HoMaM, but didn't improve battles. They are still boring and bland. :(

Also, the time when i getmyself a wife, right into my wife-slot and she had several baby-slots and than we had a baby-girl +3 magic... and i quit the game and never came back.

Umm. That's an actual game mechanic? WTF?
Fortunately I already have this one, and can let my wallet heal. Great fun and recommended especially at this price

Yes, you can obtain a wife in the game if you do the correct quests. There are several different wives to choose from, each of which gives different bonuses to your hero. You can also have kids, which also come with bonuses. However, you can not choose which kids you get, and they come with vastly different bonuses, some of them really nice, others really bleh. The problem with kids is that they take up slots you could use for equipment instead, and rarely have as good stats as a piece of gear you could equip in their place. It is therefor recommended not to have them. When your wife gets in the "mood", just say no. ;)
