Okay, what the heck. Let it be an instabuy. I actually enjoyed Dear Esther, and the description of this one sound promising. I think I'll play it one of these days, with a cup of hot beverage and listening to the sound of autumn rain drumming on the ceiling window.

Yes... I think that would be one of the ideal ways to enjoy it.

Or wait for the moon to come up, then sit outside and play it on your laptop beneath the moon and the stars, and finish it in one sitting.

But if you enjoyed Dear Esther you should like this one. It's a beautiful and touching story that almost made me weep on occasion. I thought the game could have been improved if they reduced the amount of pop/geek culture references and had some better timing for the jokes, but the story got to me anyway. It's a great experience.

kalirion: All right. Are there any actual adventure style puzzles here? Or is it just "walk over there, talk to that guy, walk over here get this thing, walk over there talk to the other guy"?

bazilisek: Pretty much the latter. Every now and then, you get a very simplistic puzzle where you flip over some tiles to complete a picture, but that's it. No inventory or anything (well, you do have an inventory, but it serves no purpose at all, or at least I didn't see any). Otherwise you just walk and talk, and you don't really get to pick what are you going to talk about, either.

I'm making it sound worse than it is, though.
It's ok, from everything people have been saying I think I get what it is - a really touching story told through something that looks like a game, but really isn't.

I've played and enjoyed Juniper's Knot, so I can appreciate that, but I think I'll wait for it to inevitably show up in an indie bundle.

If I knew last week that this would be on 60% sale on GoG, I wouldn’t have bought it in the 20% discount on Gamersgate. :( But I still hope that I got some non-Steam version (did not try it yet, maybe on Christmas).

Damn it!!! This is the WORST possible time for this to happen!!!

I just lost my credit card, and I have no idea how that happened, so I'm waiting for a new one to arrive, AND I don't have a Paypal account, meanwhile Paypal is offline right now!

Alright, I found out that pre-paid cards can be bought using cash from several chain stores to insert cash into PayPal. Phew! "Crisis" averted! I'm becoming more fond of avoiding using my credit card whenever possible!

F4LL0UT: I know, I know, and so was Karoshi and a few other notable games. I have experience with this kind of software including a few Game Maker games of my own. When it comes to the RPG Maker though... it's something personal...

No. The music provided as extra here is a selection from the team's other games. Soundtrack to To the Moon is sold separately on Bandcamp or someplace like that.
