Yes a bit of a broad question but I haven't read much and really want to change that. The problem is I'm having trouble finding a good place to start because I really like attention to detail and end up picking apart what I read more often then actually enjoying it. Any genre is fine since there is no strong preference there yet.

Some of the books I have read and really liked are Stranger in a Strange Land, The Lash Wish, 1984, Wuthering Heights, and the Godfather.
