"We very much hope that the Chinese government respects our decision..."
Uh-huh. Right. Sure.
Still, ballsy move, Google. You have my respect.

Well, there are lots of things about them I don't like, but you gotta admire them for basically giving the finger to the Chinese government and refusing to censor their content.
Well, any minute now China will invade Google's offices. "We have no quarrel with America, we just want those bastards in California!"

They did censor at first didn't they? It's only recently they've decided not to.
I'd have had more respect if they'd never gone to business with China. Unfortunately, they're not the only company to look at the lucrative growing Chinese market.

Never liked China (alias the Big Brother in world economy and politics)
Really, I can't stand them, most Chinese I know are one of the coldest people I ever met. I even count them as one of the worst society in our planet. They don't pollute mother earth, they are literally purging it.

Noooo! It'll be "All your base are belong to us"!
Or, they will invade the US, claiming there are weapons of mass destruction... er, I mean websites of massive censorship negligence there.
I have immense respect for Google. Must be the only one around here. Huh. :P
I hate those widget-gadget things you get with Vista, but for some reason I see myself wanting one showing Google service availability in China.

really? if they didn't got to china they wouldn't be able to allow chinese people to search for censored stuff would they?
I like google... I see them ol' school cyberpunk company (in the process of being made of course) Challenging whole government so bluntly is just another awesome step. Very exciting news.

This announcement has been brought to you by the number 9.
I likey the Google, but this really isn't about civil rights and censorship and the like.
This is about giving the finger to the people who buggered with Google.
Google themselves cite this http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2010/01/new-approach-to-china.html
This is Google giving China the finger. Not because they care about the little peoples, but because they don't like being hacked :p

What, so you use Lycos for your search?
Umm, so they're redirecting everything through Hong Kong? Using IP addresses?
