If there is any game that needs to be fixed and released here it is HGII. A ton of us have tried to play this in a Win 7 environment and to no avail thanks to Direct X6 garbage.
Welcome mr/miss/mrs mrt1212, would you be so kind as to utilise the wishlist for such requests.

Original Heavy Gear is worse, won't run in XP even. I got both HG games on original discs, remember paying $15 when HG1 was new in a giant box and got the manual in my desk one of the best books ever! Odd how I found HG before I discovered mechwarrior. I uploaded my discs to demonoid but I am not suggesting getting them if you can find them for sale at a decent price (the $100 pricetag is NOT a decent price for vintage discs)

Oh hey, thanks I didnt know about that. Still, the point stands; this is a game that needs its innards reworked so us fans of the HG series can get our robot on again.

What I'd love is a D3D card emulator for Voodoo2 cards so that I can actually run this thing.

I can run Heavy Gear 1 just fine in Win7 64-bit.

Heavy Gear runs in Ubuntu Linux with Cedega, but it runs slow in the mech construction menu, everything is like going 1/5 speed or normal for the 3d parts display. Gameplay is fine and I beat the game a few months back. I have an old 98se PC in my closet, might as well plug him into my old monitor because before I put it up I loaded the 20gb HDD with both Heavy Gear games, Homeworld, and a GeForce 5200FX :)

What card you using?
I haven't seen a verified HGII install on Win 7 yet which is what I'm really after.

8800GTS. I'm using an image burnt from my original discs.
