Okay I know pretty much an crap load of people here knwo what Hellgate London is so lets get to the chase.
I've seen Lets Play's of Hellgat London and currently downloading the demo and all I have to say is: Who thinks this game is good? I'm curious because I've heard about it and from the looks of it, it looks pretty awesome. So what if I can't play multiplayer and the team who made it went belly up, I really think this game looks great also I've you can get 50+ hours out of the game during single player.
So I just want to know more about and discuss hellgate: london.
P.S. Is multiplayer for the game truly dead? Also I've heard rumours of expansions in the Hellgate universe, are they true?

Get the fixed exe, install but don't start, replace original exe with fixed exe . . . no SecuROM installed. Not as bad as some say but not nearly as good as some say. I was disappointed myself.
Can you speak Korean? . . .=)

I played the hell (yay pun) out of the game when it was released. It has some strong points like the first ever rpg/fps to get the Diablo feel right but failed miserably in every other aspect. It had 3 tilesets, bugged to hell, unfinished and the userbase was divided. Go into it expecting some good points on top of a pile of crap.
To answer your question multiplayer is dead in the US at the moment. I have heard rumors of them bringing it back with the expansion (currently Asia only).
No even though i'm half-asian I don't anything besides, maybe a little espanol but that is about it, why?
thanks whiteblade. Why do asians always seem to be the nerdy techy ones? WHY!!!....sorry for that comment but seriously all the cool gadgets are seem to come from asia to me. Anyways hopefully the demo won't be a piece of crap, and that I just wanted three fraking hours waitinh for it to download.

And the cheap fibre optic Internet access. Or that's probably just me.
Hellgate: London's singleplayer still had some bugs in it due to the developer focusing on the multiplayer online aspect of the game. A lot of the fixes that were in the online version of the game never made it into the singleplayer version before the developers were shutdown.
If you were to go back and play singleplayer now I would suggest taking a look at Hellgate: Revival.
Here are the Revival SP MOD files.
This has gameplay / bug fixes along with opening up previously exclusive content (like dye kits, pets, cube, etc.)
The game shares similar basic design principle with Diablo in that the game is played again through a second time on a harder difficulty. I personally loved the game. Hellgate really shone on the second play through with many "Doom-esque" moments. The Hunter class was basically an FPS marksman class. I thought the Summoner class was pretty fun as well.
Zombies and Exothermic Rifles were crispy fun.

Hellgate: London's MMO component is going to be relaunched later this year as a free-to-play game, ironically titled Hellgate: Resurrection. It includes many changes as well as an expansion called Hellgate: Tokyo (set in, wait for it... Tokyo).
As with the Dungeons & Dragons Online re-release the base game will be free with additional content available at a premium.

Sweet! Also something is going funky with the demo. all I see is a black screen and can't get out of it so I restarted, downloading a patch see if that will help.
