I just finished Red Faction Armageddon and in the later part of the game there is a Descent homage level! Basically a level that plays exactly like Descent rather than the game you are actually playing.

I was just wondering... are there many other examples of this? I can think of NONE.

From what I gather Medal of Honor has a homage to Modern Warfare in the... entire game.

The full version of Zork can be played from a computer in CoD Black Ops.

Maniac Mansion can be played from a computer inside Day of the Tentacle (not really an "homage" as the later is the sequel of the former)

That's the only ones I can remember right now (EDIT and it's not exactly "levels" either)

It wasn't a level but I remember Rockstar put in a mission called two-faced Tanner in GTA3 which was a direct reference to Driver. Similarly Reflections had a character in a hawian shirt wearing water-wings called Timmy Vermicelli in Driv3r. Just a shame Driv3r was diabolically bad.

Oooh! Looks like Ultima Underworld 2 also has a homage to Early Ultima dungeons (Akalabeth, U1, & U2). I need to see that.

I've made a Super Cars II homage track in Trackmania. But I suppose you mean commercial content only.

Baten Kaitos had a Tower of Druaga area. I loved that part! :D

NetHack has a Rogue level and a Sokoban level.

Well if you are accepting small nod homages, Duke Forever has the Master Chief armour in it and Witcher 2 has a dead Altiir next to a smashed haycart...
