I suppose I will mark this as a question. I have two games that I purchased that while good, just were not for me. I am wondering how I can keep these games from being used to determine what games are recommended to me.

If you're not trolling please elaborate further.
Pretty sure that isn't possible.
I've marked a solution to my question. Why would my question seem like a trolling question? I think what I was asking was pretty reasonable.

Because any time someone questions the user-friendlyness of GOG they must be trolling, especially if the account seems relatively new.

Now, be a good boy and drink the brainwashing Kool-Aid and repeat after me:
"GOG is my friend, GOG would never hurt me, GOG is perfect." ;)

Agreed. The way I see it it's just asking for information on how to get site functionality to work as it was meant to be.

I don't know how it's done internally, but if I were to design such a feature I'd not as much take into account what titles the user has already bought, but what ratings he/she has given different titles, and then found other titles given high ratings by others who have given high ratings to the same games as the user (and similiar with low rated titles).

So, if it does work anythig like that, simply give the two games a low/medium rating, and perhaps find one or more games you already know and like, and give them high ratings. It may not help, depending on implementation of this feauture, but it shouldn't hurt either.

Edit:
Blaming the lack of morning coffee yet, but I'm not entirely sure what I replied to here - where is this list of recommendations, anyway? If you're talking about the "customers who bought this also bought" list, it's not personal to you, except regarding what you have in your shopping cart at the moment.

I better get that mug of coffee now..

Go to the front page and around the middle of the screen there should be a "Recommended" tab. Clicking it will open a list of games. Dunno if it's personal or just "staff's recommendations".

Ah, thanks =) I thought I'd seen it somewhere but couldn't find it.

It doesn't seem to be particularily aimed at me, though. I've already got a lot of games on GOG which means there isn't that many of interest left, so that may be why. Also, it seems wishlisted games are filtered out (no need to recommend them if they're wishlisted obviously), which makes recommending something I'd really like even harder I guess..

Edit:
If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say all titles sans bought and wishlisted titles sorted by recent sales numbers in descending order. I.e. nothing personal.

Ah, thanks. It makes more sense now. I am not as concerned about it if it operates the way ph7 suggested. I am hesitant to rate games as low when they are actually quite well done, but is not a game style that I had originally thought I would enjoy. It seems rather unfair to the game and to others who actually might like that style of gaming.

James175: snip
Now that the issue is cleared, let me tell you about one of the greatest games you've never heard about: It's called Sacrifice, it costs 5.99 here on GOG, and you'll never look at gaming in the same way after you play it. Buy it now, trust me.
