Hi all, just found the site and downloaded a couple of games. They're great, but always run in fullscreen. If I alt-tab out of them, the game goes to a small window and I can't enlarge it or go back to fullscreen.

What am I doing wrong? I would like to run the games in a large window, rather than fullscreen, but I don't see any option for that anywhere.

Thanks for any help.

Hit alt-enter to switch between fullscreen and windowed.
When you see them in small screen press alt+enter. ;)

EDIT: Goddamn ninjas! :D

Hello and welcome to the forums.
2 possible ways.
1) Run the Graphic Mode setup from the start menu for that game and select windowed mode (and a x2 or x3 renderer)
2) Edit the relevant .conf file, set fullscreen to FALSE, and again mess with the renderer. The .conf file should be properly commented, so you should be able to understand it, otherwise someone should be able to give you more info.

JMich: snip
…and this, too. I was just about to start typing the full version, but I see it's no longer needed. Never used the Graphic Mode Setup myself, but editing the .conf file is really simple.
Alt-enter doesn't help when it's in a window - I just get the little thing showing all the currently running applications. If I go to the game in that, it just sets the focus back to the window.

currently running applications? Then you do press ALT-Tab instead of ALT-Enter ;)
Oh, STUPID.

I WAS doing alt-tab - that was what wasn't working. ALT-Enter works.

Thanks very much, all.

Now if I can just work out how to save games...

But you don't even have to Alt-Enter all the time if you plan on always playing in a window. Follow JMich's instructions and edit the .conf file in Notepad so it starts windowed.
I use a front-end program called D-Fend Reloaded, it comes bundled with DOSBox 0.74. Then all you do is use the wizard to create new profile, copy/paste the folder containing the DOS game into the virtual C-drive folder D-fend makes, and then select the executable file for the game (it should be an .EXE, .BAT or .COM file).

It then makes a profile in D-Fend for that game, so you just need to click it and it automatically runs the game in DOSbox. You can even create shortcuts for DOS games with D-Fend, kinda like how GOG does.
