Why, hello Mr Rankin :)

snowkatt: that would cost a lot more then 1 million
And by a significant amount, too. Aladdin, which is 22 years old now, had a production budget of 28 million.

hell even the lord of the rings movie from 1978 had a huge for the time budget of 4 million

1 million might get the rotoscoping done

The Rankin/bass animated movie in 77 had a budget of 3 millions, apparently.

He INVENTED it!

What have you done, goddamnit?! Nothing, NOTHING!
Who cares about Peter Molyneux anyway! The man has only one game for Christ sake. Populous, Black & White, Godus, THEY’RE THE SAME THING! Doesn't anyone notice this, I feel like I'm taking CRAZY PILLS!

That and you taking crazy pills are seperate issues. :)
You could do some great trolling on this if one was so inclined. Think about how unpopular Molyneux is with gamers... then consider a t-shirt that says, 'PETER MOLYNEUX FOR PRESIDENT 2016.'

Those shirts would sell like fucking hot-cakes.

Cheap. :P
Especially, if you take inflation into account.

Maybe it could make a really short film.

Quoted from Syndicate's manual :

Peter Molyneux – Producer

“In the design I wanted there to be a freedom for the game players to do anything they wanted, so it’s up to
you. For example, you can shoot a tree and something will happen whether or not it’s of any relevance to
the game.”

mistermumbles: ...or "do you ever think before you talk?" I seriously don't get how this guy still gets money to develop anything. Overpromise and underdeliver has been his modus operandi for as long as I can remember, but at least in his Bullfrog days his fellow dev team was able to restrain him and actually make genuinely good games. These days on his own? Not so much.
That statement was followed by a long silence. And then Molyneux cried.

Too bad he has a perfect pokerface if he wants, though

Primer was made on a budget of $7000. One of the best movies I ever watched.

there are always exceptions
there is a movie made for $70

but generally 1 million for a movie is a miniscule budget
several ggs in the holy grail was done because they didnt had any money

the coocnuts were ebecause they couldnt afford any actual horses

all the castle shots are the same castle and so on

No "exceptions". There isn't a rule to which they could apply. Some existing movies required costumes, travel, renting landmarks, CGI and whatnot, and all these things cost money. Other movies don't require it. There's no reason why one couldn't shoot a watchable family drama for $7000. Primer is just the best example because it proves that budget isn't determined by genre -- there's no reason why one can't shoot a highly watchable sci-fi movie for $7000 either.
