So this whole Twitter thing... I have an account now, but how the hell am I supposed to get people to follow me? Dabble in voodoo magic? Or just beg everyone I know?

I followed some people. Then other random people started following me. I didn't post anything. If you post things, you might even get more followers than me (70 or something, before I deleted my account).

presuming this is for your blog, the first thing you want to do is embed the twitter feed into a gadget on your sidebar - thus instantly allowing those that visit the opportunity to follow for updates / discuss.

secondly, add people you know and ask them to retweet / promo you and get you some followers (friday is a good day for this with the hashtag #FF).

thirdly, follow all the games dev studios / labels etc - a lot will follow you back and ones like night dive are good at conversing with

fourthly, offer up a steamgifts / open giveaway for when you hit "x" followers.

usual promotional skills apply.

I sometimes use Twitter just to hear some stuff from people I follow, but sometimes I just want to see some...questionable stuff.
