ET3D: Are you really worried about that? I know I have enough games to fill all the time from now to my retirement, and possibly until my death.
Not really at this point. But as I said, I find it mostly positive that I have more games in my possession that I could possibly play. It is almost like fretting of having too much money, can't spend it all. :)

ET3D: And if I do run out, I can buy more games when that happens. I know that's a novel idea. :)
Maybe, but to me the fact that my backlog suddenly is empty suggests that I've had hard time finding even remotely interesting games to buy, meaning that also at that point maybe I can't easily find such games.

Then again, I know people have different habits. I recall someone here was genuinely surprised there would be people like me who don't instantly start playing every game they buy, but there may be even years of gap between buying a game, and actually playing it. I, on the other hand, am genuinely surprised someone is able to instantly play every game they buy, unless they buy only few games per year. Maybe they have superhuman speed to play games through, or drop games quite soon after the start, I don't know. Or maybe I just happen to play mainly games that take weeks or months to finish.

It might sound sane to buy games only when you intend to play them, but then tell that to those who complain some GOG game disappeared before they had a chance to buy it. :) I wish I had been able to buy e.g. TOCA Racing and Colin McRae racing games from GOG, when they still were here.

I bought TOCA. Haven't played it.

I guess we're just at different stages. I used to be excited about sales and be happy that I have more games. At some point (quite recent, a couple of years ago) I realised that what commonly happens is that I didn't play the game, or hardly played it, and it later got offered for a lower price, or even for free. Other games simply got pushed down the list by games I wanted to play more. So I started feeling more like I was wasting money than spending it on things I enjoy.

And sure, there are games I'm happy I bought before they disappeared, like Wallace & Gromit, but for every such game there are many more that I feel I wasted money by buying, and even in the case of Wallace & Gromit I got stuck in the first chapter and never continued. (But it's still high enough on the list that I might play it one day.)

That's not to say that I stopped buying games, and I certainly get tempted by bundles quite a lot, but it's just not as satisfying as it used to be. Android games, those I actually play, which is why I'm more excited about them. I still play only a small percent of the Android games I bought in bundles, but that's fine, because some games I do play, which is much rarer for me these days on the PC.

Well, a bit hard for me to get excited of GOG sales at this point, as 99% of the time it says "Nice, you seem to have all the games from the promo already...". Also this sales is full of "owned" remarks for me. "Among the Sleep" seemed somewhat interesting though, I was close to buying it.

So I guess for now I've reached the point in GOG that I have pretty much all the games I want for now, save for a few titles. I've seen myself increasingly skipping Humble Bundles too, in fact lately I've only bought the HB Mobile bundles (and god knows why, as that is for me the backlog where I rarely play the games I buy).
Seriously? I don't. These people sucker me into spending my money, even if I was rich I'd feel like I lost a gallon of blood to see a buck make itself wings and fly to Poland.
