Hi you all! it's my first post here so forgive any mistakes.

Anyways, here's my problem. The GOG downloader forgets my downloads a.k.a with every boot, my downloads disappear and so I have to start all over again. I have started The Witcher's 2 download 3 times just today and every time I have to shutdown my computer, I'm afraid that I might have to start all over again and my fears come true, each gosh darn time!

Help me out anybody pls! I already have lost my previous savegames when I did a fresh OS installation now I don't want to bear the weight of this sorrow of not being able to download altogether.
Correct, the GOG downloader does not pause and resume with restart.

Why are you rebooting your computer three times today? Can you not just leave it running until the download is complete?

Alternately, do not use the GOG downloader.
Three reasons why I rebooted my computer 3 times:
1. Third World problems...power cut.
2. first reason.
3. first reason.

With that said, GOG downloader wasn't always problematic for me. It's only become now. Get a hint, I said I lost my previous save games which points towards me having played and downloaded the game once before.

Is there any way to get around or what's the alternate route?
I've been using DownThemAll lately for gog downloads, and it does not appear to have any issue with pausing and resuming gog files. I just checked it with a 1.5gb The Witcher 2 file. Started, paused and resumed without a hitch.

Huh. I thought the GOG downloader always did not resume on reboot. Maybe I am wrong.

In any case, on the game download page, switch off the GOG downloader mode and use direct download instead. Then augment that with some download manager as Matewis suggests.

Good luck!

Thank you both!
