Hello,

Has anyone played this title? Is internet connection required from the computer it was installed on? Reason I'm asking is because I have a Linux laptop and a Windows 98 gaming machine (where this game will be installed). The Windows 98 computer doesn't have a NIC and isn't connected to the internet, and of course this is Windows only so it won't work in Linux.

How does the internet thing work? Do internet websites work from within the game or can you just type in address and stuff in another computer?
You might find it works in Linux with Wine: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=4973
But that's just an alternative if it doesn't work on your Win98 without internet

An article in rather broken English suggests it does need internet: http://www.adventure-archiv.com/i/inmemoriamreviewe.htm
'Real emails from the net to real email addresses of the players'

That said, you could play it on your Win98 and use ur Linux box to get the emails. That could even be a new genre, cross-computer video gaming!

What I'm concerned about is that it might requrie internet within the game. I.e when you play the game, a built in fake email "application" from within the game is used for the email, stuff like that.

And I'd install it through Wine but actually I kind of lied to make this thread simple. Actually my only computer right now is this Windows 98 gaming machine, and I'll be getting a Google Chromebook laptop when it comes out next month (typing this from my parents computer), and ChromeOS isn't really regular Linux, it's basically just a browser built ontop of Linux but with no real access to Linux itself... lol, anyway...
