Is this some kind of sick joke?
That or some angry PC gamers or some college jocks wanting to know what happens in MW3.
..that is really freaky.
Pissed off from one killstreaks death too many, I bet! :P
Wasn't Infinity Ward due to announce some DLC soon too, publicity stunt for that perhaps?
What a weak attempt at free publicity. If anyone got taken hostage or hurt, the police would show up, not "bouncers". Of course, you can't pay cops to play your little publicity game, can you? (and yes, I dislike Infinity Ward after they've shown several times how far up their asses their heads can be found).

Ugh. This is way too far for a publicity stunt. God forbid you should forget your ego and be concerned. :P

It is near a time when Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is being released however, I mean yeah it could be a nasty coincidence and Infinity Ward are somehow being wronged but... Mmmm, seems too convenient with the timing somehow.
I'm probably wrong, I hope I'm not though as it would be horrible otherwise.

*laughs* I'm afraid my cynical side is too busy thinking "what an obvious publicity stunt" for my compassionate side to get its say.
Even if it's not, why be concerned? It's not as if they're going to be in physical danger or they wouldn't get "bouncers" involved but real cops. And I doubt Activision would pull the plug on their most successful brand.
I'll stick with "publicity".

Let's think about them as fellow men and not game developing robots built for our entertainment.
Working under people making your life miserable, sapping your creativity is not a good experience. Even if you hate IW, it's bad for the industry.

If its real (which I doubt) then I hope things work out well. If its a publicity stunt, I wonder if the EA management know that their PR department has started working for other developers

It's not like anyone forced them to do what they do - there's a lot worse jobs than that out there, trust me. Besides, it was IW's choice to leave their previous publisher and to go to Activision so sorry if I got little sympathy if Activision is pulling a fast one. After the big server joke and the way IW handled it, you can't pin it all on Activision anyway.

How can you paint it so black and white? If everyone could have a nice job with nice bosses that would be great. You must believe that's far from reality....particularly given the economy these days.
I don't know the details on the switch so I can't say really. There's still no good excuse for a publisher mistreating a developer, at least not to the potential extent there is here. Not saying Activision has done anything though. For all I know IW are the big jerks. Or it's nothing at all.
I've got no bias toward IW and I agree the server thing and MW2 in general was shit. I still don't want to see anything terrible to happen to people though.

Yeah I think the whole thing screams 'weak attempt at publicity with too serious overtones' and personally I like Bad Company 2 beta much more than anything they ever made so they can f--- off ya know.
Yes I am angry some would go this far. As said above, if it was real police would be there, not private security.
It's not about the server things in MW2 being shit - it's about how they handled the situation and how they treated their loyal fans who they owe their success. I always try to separate the game from the developer but in this case, the developer basically pissed all over the audience that made it successful.
First of all, they lied during interviews. Then they downplayed the problems with the new system, denied there would be certain problems only for there to BE such problems upon release, then mocked those that claimed there would be problems, etc. That's why I said that Activision is not the only one to blame for the mess. Both parties have done some screwed up things that made them unpopular with PC gamers, me included.
Having said that, I don't wish bad luck to fall on them but neither do I care if it does - karma and all. Not when it involves the head honchos anyway since they were directly responsible for the mess.
There is one reason security would show up un-announced...and that's somebody getting shit-canned. I sense some IW management are about to end up out of work.

There could be a million different reasons why police wouldn't be there. Maybe nothing has actually happened beyond a whole lot of tension and stress between the two. That and the security is enough for me to be concerned. Maybe IW doesn't want to make a bad situation worse. But seems like no one cares unless someone's been injured. :P

That's quite possibly it.
