I see some threads on here about kickstarter, and it has piqued my curiosity. Is there a way to go to the site, and determine which games are the newest to seek funding, or sign up for weekly emails when new games are requesting assistance? If I find a game interesting, and it is DRM free, I would consider supporting them (when financially possible), to help keep DRM free games going.

You can follow this thread here on the forum.

Here's a link on Kickstarter for new and noteworthy video games.
https://www.kickstarter.com/discover/advanced?category_id=35&sort=newest

This should show you the latest video game projects first.

I love KS. I have backed more than 40 projects on there, and 90% of them have bear their fruits, and keep their promisses, or are on their way to do it (this is my profile btw : https://www.kickstarter.com/profile/1068735178 ).

So I won't say that it's dangerous, risky, scammy or anything of that kind, but do bear in mind that even among the indies, the drm-free revolution can be a tough pill to swallow. You'll have to harass sometimes the creator to make them keep their promisses of a drm-free game, and even sometimes, it can be a lot uglier : http://www.gog.com/forum/general/frontier_have_decided_to_make_elite_dangerous_online_only/page1

And waiting specifically on a GOG version of a kickstarter game is even trickier :) . Because GOG is just that picky with their games, and little creator doesn't have a shred of assurance that they will come to GOG, whatever they claim before.

So, if you go for it, try to back devs with a track record, and even better, a track record of good relations with GOG : inexile, obsidian, larian, harebrained schemes, the coles of Quest for Glory fame, King art games,...

KS is worth it if you want to change the nature of the games currently made, but at its core, it's a battle against the industry and its years of horrible consummer practices.

Personally I like backing devs with little track record, and I think that GOG is far from being necessary for a DRM-free release. A download at Humble or even a Dropbox download is good enough. Don't limit your choice just because GOG does.
Or you could use Kicktraq.

Thanks. Looks like a good way to go.
For adventure games:

http://www.adventure-treff.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=19145

That thread is (most of the time) the best source for adventure games seeking crowdfunding. The first post is updated regularly for new projects. It is in German though, but as it is only a listing of games with links to project pages, it should be easy to read even with no knowledge of German language.

That looks pretty good.

Hey, I just said if you want specifically a GOG games :) Not that you can't do anything else.

And I just meant that it's not a good idea to specifically want GOG games from Kickstarter. If you want to encourage indie development, the last thing you want is to tie it to a store's decisions.
Thanks to everyone for their replies.
