Blech. :/

I really don't have much more to say about it.

I don't know, I'm digging it, but I'd rather see how it plays than how it looks.

Dr_Worm: I don't know, I'm digging it, but I'd rather see how it plays than how it looks.
Looks like a mix of side-scrolling and some sort of not-so-side-scrolling.
Blech indeed. I was trying to hold out optimism over this, but a corridor-based 3d remake of the first game with additional platforming "joy" is very far indeed from anything I'd hoped for.

*sigh*
I think these kind of games are really hard to make well. The controls need to be very precise otherwise they can be frustrating. I have a suspicion this won't have that precision.

It's definitely making me yearn for the days Telltale was supposed to be making the next in the series.
I agree with Dr_Worm. It looks very pretty, but I am wondering if we are seeing cut scenes and movement animations rather than the actual game. I'll wait to see some game play before making any judgements. I am really liking the art style, it reminds me of the anime from the 80s. For some weird reason I think "Last Unicorn" when I watch it.

I guarantee you that we saw some cut scenes - I know the first game like the back of my hand (*cough*ifnkovhgroghprm*cough*) and I recognized a number of them, but it looks like some of it was gameplay - part of it looked like the infamous staircase. I'll hold out a small hope that actual gameplay is indeed different, but I'm certainly not going to hold my breath. (It is pretty, but it bothers me a lot that Graham looks about 16. -.- )
Eh, I'll try to keep an open mind and give it the benefit until it's done. I'd thrown out the hope that an old school P&C King's Quest was on the cards, I don't think I could dislike this more than I disliked MoE.

Well, I guess this is Grandpa Graham telling tales of his adventures to his granddaughter.

Honetly, I haven't played KQ since I was young. What gameplay are you hoping for? Side-scrolling with point and click interactions?

I was just hoping for the original adventure game to not be slaughtered, gameplay-wise, actually. I knew it was a thin hope, but platforming? Ugh. I'd've been happier to not see "sidescrolling" in any description of it, ever.

Mind you, I'm heavily biased. I won't deny that a bit: Not only was KQ my first adventure game (text parser, not p-n-c), but it was pretty much my first real computer game, period. See attached photo for the version I played. ;)

For some reason the image of Spoony shouting "betrayal" comes to my mind.
