StarEye: Console game comes to PC. PC gamers say "HA! I don't want that stupid kidsgame, I'm no dumb console gamer!". Console game stops coming to PC. PC gamers say "That's stupid, don't they want my money?".

actually he hit the nail square on the head. PC gamers, from my experience, can be some of the most fickle and Entitled wankers on the Internet. Not to say they all are, but the vocal minority at least always want something for nothing, with disregards to how much money actually goes into a project. At least with console gamers you pretty much know what they want, shooter mc shootery 4793: now with added explosions and the option of shooting a man in the balls.

Being a PC gamer I'd like to comment that the problem I mainly have with console games ported onto the PC is that quite often they're shovelware, ports done with little change effected to aim at PC's. Meaning very little done to ensure it'll run. Keyboard/mouse controls for a game which still expects input to act like a dual analog stick, sometimes going as far as only supporting one kind of gamepad so you can't easily just pop in your favourite gamepad. And other things which make you think they just did a direct port without even doing any QA to see if it runs and is playable with the changes.

That said, there are some Console->PC game ports which have been done well.

And the other thing about PC gamers disliking a game on console and on PC is that often the game is designed around being played on console meaning some of the more advanced things you might expect a PC gamer to do (quick mouse movement, more keys etc. etc.) will be altered to fit onto a controller.
Again that's what often happens, not what always happens. Good example of a game on PC and console which worked quite well was Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. Crisper details on the PCs which could pull it. Good array of keyboard commands but still allowing simple user interface. Larger levels because of less limitations etc. etc (disclaimer, I haven't played the Xbox version of this game, but have read of many of the changes between the systems)
Crap, aaaall crap :-P

I'm sick and tired about those "HD" remakes. I want new, original games, because if I need to recall some old glory I tend to get THAT glory and play it in its original form (or with an emulator, at least).....
Konami's PC ports have been quite decent. Metal Gear Solid still runs on my computer. Too bad they cut the Psycho Mantis scene out.

Silent Hill 2 was having cutscene laggings, but aside that it was quite good.

Hopefully we will see them on future GoGs.
I am severely disappointed only SH2 and 3 are included in the collection. I hope they'll smarten up and include the rest of the PS2 games.
The first MGS is availabe as a PSOne classic, but yeah it should be included in such a collection.

Not including the first Silent Hill is a dealbreaker for me. It's the only Silent Hill game I played on the original PS, and besides some curiousity towards the latter games the only reason I would buy such a collection. Further, it is not available as a PSOne classic.

I love the recent HD remake hysteria, because the remakes are so far really good (and complete), but this is disappointing.
Why are people always so surprised (no-one in here in particular, just saying) that a PSone game isn't included in the HD remaster packs? The HD remasters always consists of PS2 games, and we only get HD remaster packs because it's usually a reasonably easy job to make. Making a HD remaster of a PSone game is probably a lot more work than a HD remaster of a PS2 game

Not to mention, the PSone games are much more outdated, that even making them run in HD would show their age quite easily. The amount of polygons on, for example Solid Snake's head in MGS1 is laughable, and it's more of a square box with a face texture. They'd have to completely redesign the characters to make them look good enough.

Oh, and I know about Twin Snakes, but Nintendo holds the rights, and there's no way they will let them go.
They should probably call them HD updates rather than HD remakes.

It would be nice to see a remake similar to the Resident Evil remake, Silent Hill 2 is one of my all time favourite games and to be honest I couldn't stand the other SH games all that much.

What makes you think that? Just because a game is published on a platform doesn't mean that platform's owner holds the rights to that game. Konami was the publisher.

In fact, Metal Gear Solid 4 uses assets from Twin Snakes. Namely audio files. It is far more likely that it's a technical difficulty that prevents them from using Twin Snakes. That and the Nintendo trademarks (such as the mario doll), that might be a pain to remove.
