Yep, especially the small apps although the GNOME desktop environment wins the price for being a real pain in the rear to configure and compile. But it may have changed since the time I did a LFS.
Also pray to god there's not a new GCC version next months or you'll be inclined to recompile it all again :D
Thank God there're preconfigured packages for Gentoo :)
