I'm currently looking for a decent headset/mic for both my new gaming PC and to beable to plug into my tv. The Tv has a 3.5mm audio port.

I'm currently looking at

Razer Carcharias

or the

Logitech G35

What I'm looking for is decent sound quality as well as 7.1 and 5.1 surround sound. The microphone on it also needs to be good quality. I'm looking to spend upto about £150 but obviously the lower the better if the quality is there.

Has anyone used either of the above or have other suggestions on what a good headset would be?

I cant really help but wasnt there some issues with the G35 and some games?
I have astro a40's and am pleased with them. You could also look into the Turtlebeach PX & DX series and Tritton AX series.
This might help:

I've got this sitting on my head this very moment.

don't let the box fool you by it's cheap ass look, you tear it apart and keep the headset for infinity.

it's got 7.1 surround, multiple levels of bass boost, connectors for both normal headphone / mic jacks and USB, it's comfy, durable, sounds great, the Mic is adjustable and removable ...

it's also got lights on the outside of the ear cups and costs $45.00.

there is no better Headset on the market unless what your interested in is a brand name, 'cause thats the only thing is doesn't have.

(well, I guess the fact that it's not wireless ... thats the only thing more I could ask for.)
