I googled for some and didn't find anything.
SS could be literally anything man.

Acronyms are awful for a reason.

I figured anyone who knows what serious sam is would know what SS is. And those are the only people who would have knowledge on mods anyways.

Thanks for clearing that up man, I'll exit the thread now.

Everyone do have fun.
I don't know of any HD mods, I'm afraid, so you'll either have to suck it up and deal with Steam, or just stick with the (still very attractive) originals
Hey by the way, is Hard Reset a Steam exclusive? I just want to make sure before... before I don't buy it.

Indeed, I agree BUT it's just the laziness of the current generation. More sense should be beaten into them before being allowed onto the internet.

No idea. I've only ever seen it on Steam, but I don't really use Gamer's Gate. It might be on there.

I went to their official site and it looks like these don't use Steam. But the "steam required" thing might be hiding somewhere I didn't look, or these sites drms might be just as bad.

I know Hard Reset uses Steamworks, but that doesn't necessarily mean it requires Steam. It was in an Indie Royale bundle earlier this year DRM-free, so maybe there are other outlets to get it from?
Hard Reset doesn't require Steam, but I'm not sure if the Extended Edition can be found anywhere other than Steam.
Hard Reset retail was completely free of Steam, but had a launcher that prompted you to register the game on the publisher's site. Without an active internet connection, the game launched after a CD-key check.
