Trying to get more info on this game, I cant even seem to find if its actually an MMO or similar to Fable 3 where you can invite people in.

Its apparently in a pre alpha stage so i cant expect miracles

It's a Online game, but i guess it's a hybrid from what I've read. Gamemodes mentioned are singleplayer, coop, pvp. Hard to know, haven't tried it. Never really bothered with beta testing games, buggy enough on release in my exp.

But if you've played the game, I'm at a loss why I'm answering :p

Thank you, I havent played it, if its just online I wont even bother with it. thank you for responding.

It's not only online. It's also similar to Descent. So far there is a alpha out that people can play but it's nothing special. You get to fly around and shoot a fe bots and drill through rock.

what it will finally be is still undecided, the game was supposed to be a bundle of MMO and Single player game modes where the SP side had a story line while the online side was gonna be some kind of p2p sandbox game like EVE with less economics.

then it was changed to "oops, you guys didn't understand us: we are actually gonna be making two games, a SP game and a MMO-like game ... but will be nice and let everyone who already did the pre-alpha buy in have both games when they come out.

every once in a while I get an update from them in my e-mail, but so far I haven't seen much in the way of notable releases to bring the game into an actual Alpha state.

it's got some cool tech, and blowing the shit out of stuff with deformable terrain is always fun ... think the first Red Faction mixed with decent in an open space environment like Freespace and your not too far off the mark.

The little demo of it really makes me want a multiplayer Dwarf Fortress style game in asteroids. Dig out a little base in an asteroid, then go find the other team's asteroid base. Sadly, Miner Wars does not appear to be that game.
