Well this is a total bummer. Jimmy Ruffin died man! Great singer. Any fans of his work?

Never heard of him tbh, nearest I ever got to "soul music" was The Commitments movie.

Always sad to see someone that evidently left such a huge musical legacy pass away :(

Really? That movie and soundtrack is absolutely brilliant. Should check out his stuff he had a beautiful voice. His brother sang for The Temptations if I remember right who also did some amazing stuff. It is always good for a change.
Well that sucks. I won't claim to be his biggest fan but he was a fine vocalist who managed to step out of his brother's shadow a few times with a couple of hits.

Yeah, his brother David was in The Temptations and had a pretty good solo career afterwards.

Wasn't david murdered or died of suspicious circumstances?

Honestly I have no idea what happened to David, I've heard multiple stories but it's shady all around, sorta like the end of Johnny Thunders, lots of rumors and not much more.

On Topic: For those that don't know Jimmy Ruffin, check out What Becomes of the Brokenhearted. It was his biggest hit and it's a pretty good song.

I actually linked the song in the article I posted. One of the best songs period.
Ah, bummer! I like his songs, and while he was best known for What Becomes of the Brokenhearted, Farewell Is A Lonely Sound and It's Wonderful (to be loved by you) have always been my favourites.

RIP Jimmy.

Good choices.
