i just finished watching The Forgotten, interesting movie, badly executed ending but (I had seen it before) I could have sworn it ended differently. I remember

SPOILER it ending in a building with windows and the alien in human form started screaming. All windows exploded and the "human" mouth of the alien got very long. SPOILER END.

That didn't happen so i obviously am confusing two similar movies with each other. Anybody any idea what that other movie could be?

I just can't figure it out. I can see the scene in my head but the actor is blurry (surprise surprise). He stands in a small hallway with windows to his left and right and when he screams (I don't know if it's an attack or a call like in the body snatchers) the windows explode/shatter. The movies probably isn't 10 year old....it''s driving my crazy.

I give up, at least with my google search. Still hoping to get my aswer here ;)

There is an alternate ending on the disc I have. I never saw it in the theater, but the ending you describe is the one I saw on disc. Haven't watched the other one yet. I'm pretty sure this is the root of your confusion.

All that comes to mind for me is this scene.

Likewise, that's the ending I recall as well, the same one the OP is describing. A rather crappy ending I fear, as I am not fond of the alien ex machina approach to story resolution.

Yeah I think it's definitly inspired by this scene but it's not body snatchers. I might have been The Invasion but i can't remember that movie at all so i don't know if the mouths of the aliens get stretched when they scream (if they scream at all) The alternative ending should be almost the same. The scene with her child is missing and the alien explanation is a bit different. That's what i read, haven't seen the other scene so not entirely sure.

I've noticed it sometimes with tv shows, too; seems like when something is in syndication, they sometimes chop bits and pieces off, probably so they can throw in more commercials.

Well, you could try watching the trailers of the film again. Several times I have noticed cool sequences that were in the trailer of a film but not in the theatrical release.

I just fired it up and watched it. The scene you describe (scene 26 on my disc) is the theatrical version. Julianne Moore's character ends up in a big dark warehouse with the alien that looks like a human. Eventually, she sees her son and chases him around the warehouse, running through a bunch of dimly lit narrow corridors, the walls of which are all glass windows (the old style industrial windows with the small square panes). Just when she thinks she's going to catch him, she rounds a corner and comes face to face with the alien again. They talk about the 'experiment' a bit and she says she'll do whatever he wants if she can get her son back. He says she has to forget him r the experiment will fail and he can't fail. She refuses and then his face changes like you describe, he yells, and all the windows shatter, while Julianne Moore is thrown backwards a few feet down the hallway from the force of the yell.

WOW thank you! I tried to find this on youtube but couldn't find it. It was so weird because i saw this in theatres and I was expecting this and well i got something else.
