Majuu Ou ( king of demons )
donkey kong country games
Faxanadu
Fairlight
E.V.O. search for eden
La Mulana
Deathspank
Catherine
Baten kaitos
Fable

argh what have you done to me all this music pouring into my head at once
Suikoden 1 and 2 is an interesting example since it's a mix of various folk songs mashed up to represent diversity in our army since we recruit people from different tribes and race.

The first Wild Arms opening is so simple yet amazingly catchy and easy tor remember.

Bust a Groove proves that even when it's just disco and techno if you mix it well you will never forget them.

Ridge Racer Type IV..... I salute the DJ, the pinnacle of Ridge Racer song before nambam decided to ruin the franchise.

Columns, it's a simple Genesis puzzle game. The music.... aren't that simple.
Original (FULL) OST to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl by Mooze

Endzville: Oh, I love lots of soundtracks to games. Some of my friends find it funny that the music folder on my phone is filled with them. That said, here's a bunch of great ones that I listen to more often than others:

Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs (first game's soundtrack isn't something I care much for outside of the game, but I love this one's)
Awesomenauts
Bastion (blew me away in game - absolutely stunning)
Bioshock Infinite
BIT.TRIP.RUNNER (it's a music rhythm game, so go figure)
Chrono Trigger
Dear Esther
Deus Ex (yes yes yes)
Deus Ex: Human Revolution (*gasp* it's just as good)
Far Cry 3 (not perfect, but pretty good)
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon (kicks ass)
Faster Than Light
Fez
The Last of Us (don't even own the game yet, but the soundtrack's one of my favourite of all time for anything)
Half Life 2
Hotline Miami (like TLOU, one of my favourite soundtracks ever)
Lone Survivor
Killer 7
Kentucky Route Zero (assuming the remaining acts will make use of music so well too)
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery
Shoot Many Robots (can't remember how I got this as I haven't even got the game, though I love this)
The Swapper

Oddly, I don't go out of my way to pick up AAA game soundtracks, even though there's a ton of great ones there too. But, yeah, there's those. Could look through my Steam or GOG library too, for some other favourites, but I guess that makes my point: I love music for most games I play.
I love Blood Dragon's OST, never played the game but I love the 70's feel, the awesome synth, it's all great haha. Wasn't much into Hotline Miami's or FTL's but I forgot to mention 2 of my absolute favorites (other than the ones previously mentioned) Gunpoint's and LA Noire's OST are amazing, probably my top 2 sound tracks (other than Skyrim) no joke.

I'm loving the varing games soundtracks people are posting, that's great!
No order,

Albion

Driftmoon
Lands of Lore: Guardians of Destiny

the_atm: So what are some of your favourite game soundtracks?
Almost all Jesper Kyd soundtracks (the Hitman series, Kane & Lynch, Freedom Fighters, also Assassin's Creed 2 - didn't like the AC1 soundtrack much, though). And I also adore some of the older stuff, especially Chris Hülsbeck's music (Turrican 2's OST has to be some of the finest music ever composed for a video game - in fact lately I'm listening to it when working).
Someone (Venezuelan, name begins with C) posted this soundtrack link here some months ago. This zombie game doesn't interest me at all, but the soundtrack is aces. You can listen to it freely here:

Heavy Rain
To The Moon (I cried so hard)
Brutal Legend (For obvious reasons)
Legend of Zelda (Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask at least in my opinion)
Under the Ocean
Spec Ops: The Line
Guild Wars 1 & 2 (Breathtaking)
Suikoden
My favorites...too many to list:

-Bastion
-Braid
-Cave Story
-Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
-Fez
-Final Fantasy 5,6,10, and some of 13
-Guild Wars 2
-Intelligent Qube
-Kid Icarus: Uprising
-Mario Galaxy
-Mirror's Edge
-Super Meat Boy
-System Shock 2
-Zelda: Wind Waker

I'm listening to The Unfinished Swan's soundtrack, and I'm really liking it so far.
Syberia 1 and 2
Hotline Miami
Braid
Metal Gear Solid (for PSX)
Fallout 1 + 2
Planescape: Torment
Hotline Miami
Full Throttle
Diablo
I've been listening to a lot of Far Cry 2's soundtrack recently.

durandl: Homeworld; probably the best Sound and Music if have heard in any game so far!
Agreed. Paul Ruskay's music adds sooo much to game's atmosphere.

tfishell: I'm actually interested in soundtracks that AREN'T any good, since it's really easy to find good game music these days, even on indie titles. ;)
Quite a lot of PS2 games, outside maybe Japanese RPGs, and maybe Japanese games overall. I remember being constantly underwhelmed by music in PS2 games (and also many PSOne games), even popular big-name ones like Jak and Daxter series, Spyro series, TimeSplitters games (so far I've only played the early TimeSplitters games), PS2 CoD and MoH games, etc.

It gave me an impression that at least western PS/PS2 game developers felt they should just add some generic music in the background, just because there "had" to be some music in the background.
