Can't help you with the issue itself, but you might want to try out your luck here. The forum there isn't what it used to be, but you don't lose anything for trying.

It seems dead

It's zombified. The community stopped commonly posting, but there's tons of helpful lurkers that will reply if they happen to know the answer. Just like I do. There won't be any kind of reply if they don't know, though, which is admittedly annoying. In any case, just commenting the option, feel free to do as you like.

You're telling me, that was my first online community ever (GOG is the second). I went on a trip, kept myself busy doing some stufff for a couple years, then when I felt like posting on a forum again went back and everybody was... well, not exactly gone as you get sudden bursts of activity when there's something interesting as the old users still go back to download manga and check the "latest posts" while at it, but nobody posts regularly anymore. Seems like the old guard like myself got busy and there was no new blood to replace us, sad.

So I for instance will check the recommendations or the "what is this" threads when I see them updated on the main page, and help if I can. And I know others to do the same (I keep in touch through PMs these days), so maybe you could get lucky, that's why I suggested it.

Now I feel like I'm forcing you... not that I could, but still, you can of course do whatever you want. I'm just venting a bit, I loved the MT community; met many great people and visited several in person in Norway, Philipines or Indonesia... hell, I'll be visiting one of them next month in Japan! so I feel very sad that the site is so dead these days.
