I. Came. Buckets.
Best piece of CG I've seen in a long time - I don't care if the game won't live up to the effects and suspense I've just witnessed, I want to play it NOW! :)
Especially since I was a little n00b back when MechWarriors came out and they were a bit complicated for my Quake II CTF-infested brain. ;)

Aliasalpha: So are you in on the GOG Squad too?
Absitively. I'll be the chief noob PPC-magnet, drawing enemy fire away from my lancemates - callsign: "Diversion". :)
On a side note, do you guys know any place where I could order a Mechwarrior (or is it BattleTech?) novel and which one would be a good start? By this I mean a good title to understand the basics, like setting etc? Currently the only thing I ever read are WH40k novels, but after seeing that trailer (and having read Horus Heresy: Mechanicum) I feel a need to read some Mechwarrior. :)

sheepdragon: Ooh, WH40k novels?
I've read Ultramarine's Omnibus, two Gaunt's Ghosts Omnibuses, Soul Drinkers Omnibus, Blood Raven's Omnibus, and currently reading Eisenhorn. Still haven't read any of the Horus Heresy books, but I think I can "steal" them from a friend.
I couldn't possibly recall all the 40k novels I've read over the years, but I was unable to read the Ultramarines omnibus (Ultramarines are a bit boring IMHO, so I gave it to Tirpitz:P), nor the Soul Drinkers omnibus (emo marines, almost as emo as Dark Angels).

kScope: Here is the list of the battletech novels published so far, a good start would be the Gray Death Legion saga by William H. Keith
Don't know where you could buy them, but probably Amazon is the right place to start
Thanks a bunch, I'll check out the list as soon as I'm off-duty. ;) Too bad I can't buy new/re-released ones, like on Black Library's website. :<

ZamFear: Compare: Macross Defender vs. Rifleman.
Well, Macross is all about Valkyries anyway, so, personally, I don't mind it much, but it can't be denied that it's an epic ripoff. :) Luckily BattleTech's technology can't support lumbering Monster Destroids (with those gianormous arm missile launchers which look like they're going to fall off in sec), nor the nimble, transforming Valkyries, right? :)

Plus, you can check out the "Rewind Theater" version:
http://pc.ign.com/dor/objects/18954/mech-warrior-project/videos/mechwarrior_spc_rewindtheaterr_070809.html . Lots of good commentaries there, least of which are BattleMech names... And I think I should get back to work now... Good thread, though... :P

I don't think this has been posted yet, so...
http://pc.ign.com/articles/100/1002164p1.html
I've only skimmed it, but there's plenty of good material to be found there. My colleagues now have to keep an eye on me not to keep reading, and get back to work... :P
