Vestin: Talk about harsh punishments... Sheesh...

Wow, that was one critical park!
I've been playing Pharaoh/cleopatra for ages and compared to that everything just seemed to be wizzing by, I think my brain just needed readjusting x The link to utube really helped. When you know what your doing it's fine i'll just have to remember to pause when i need to think! ;)
Thank u all for your help x

melarkey: Thanks guys,
I've tried the lowering cycle but it didn't change the speed any and i lowered it right down to 5%.
At the moment it's running 1 1/2 days per second It's playable if i just play th game but i usually like to do other things at the same time x giving it a rest for one night i'll have another look tomorrow..... This Gal defiantly has geek potential btw! ;p

DrIstvaan: Oh, I thought it was insanely fast when you said your workers were sprinting all over the place.
It's about the same speed for me, and it seems it's intended to be that way. I've also read complaints in some review (IIRC on MobyGames) that it plays too fast.
Also, while there *is* a pause button, you sadly can't really issue orders while the game is frozen. OK, it stands to reason, but still, a game this fast should really have that function.

melarkey: Was following fine until select " set processor affinity " there doesn't seem to be an option for that.
I'm on a acer aspire 3680 laptop using vista.

It is "set affinity", I think. But if that option doesn't appear for you on the game's .exe, that probably means that your notebook has a single core processor, not a dual or quad. So this isn't your case and solution.
Anyway, I'll let the other guys who own the game get into the geeky details. :)

That was my thinking hehe. Either it was the processor affinity or the dosbox.
