Yeah, love Strategy WWII games.
Hearts of Iron 3: Semper Fi released today so is this. Great day for WWII game fans.
Panzer General 2 also please lol.
At least it doesn't have that DRM of theirs in it, eh? =)
Still, it's probably a pass from me as this isn't generally a genre I play.
I'm not interested in this game, but I AM glad to finally see SSI in the catalogue. Bring on Thunderscape!
Nice one!
But actually, i would have preferred to see the earlier games of the series, Panzer General 1 and 2, also Fantasy General.
Funny thing, but really enjoyed the bastard son that is PG3:Scorched Earth, and then finding out that it's actually the "worst" of the series had a celebration attached. But the problem with earlier games, namely one and two, is that it's a pain in the rear to actually get going on modern systems, and while I did manage to play them for a while, the crashings and burnings didn't do anything for my willingness to finish them. But still, PG3:SE is not a bad game, and Assault has more campaings and units to play in SP (PG3:SE only in custom maps and MP), so I can see myself buying this game in the future, maybe in a promo. If you get the first two in working condition, and maybe some more SSI games in a bundle, I will definitely buy them all.
A SSI game? I hope to see in the future the SSI AD&D games.

Oh yes, definitely. SG had a brilliant soundtrack BTW. And GOG, why not add the Steel Panthers games while you're at it?
Good addition, an SSI title.
And published by you, Ubisoft? You should show up often, come to the DRM-free side of the force you know. :)
And someone forgot FRAPS open... hehehe

Not only is there a legal battle for those rights, but Ubisoft doesn't factor into that battle at all right now. All that could result from this is that the Atari D&D games are also unsaleable. Not exactly positive.
...i might get it on my wishlist (WW2 FTW!)...but, i was now remembering an old game of which i'd only played a demo a long time ago, and i don't even remember if it had anythong to do with these publishers or not. That game was caller People's General and was very interesting 2D turn-based game with 'foto-realistic' background (wich is a must for me, on old 2D games like this).
So... any chance that game is coming to GOG as well? :)
I'm just glad that Ubisoft decided to get off their asses and start releaseing some new games on gog.com, hopefully they release a lot more games from now on.
Another sweet surprise from GOG. I love this series and never thought I'd be able to play them ever again.
Also, good to see Ubisoft releasing more titles here. Interesting isn't it, how Ubi will drive gamers nuts with their current, draconian, DRM and yet will release other titles completely DRM free. Maybe they will be collecting stats on which type will sell more, you think?
Well done GOG team.
