After releasing the first and only new game on GOG.com, we're back into our standard, good, old games releases.

[url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/spellforce_2_shadow_wars]Spellforce 2: Shadow Wars is the sequel of the great game that blends the action and tactics of an RTS with an immersive role-playing experience. In the second part you have to once more fight the evil that threatens the fantasy world of Eo, choosing from 9 different classes within 3 factions. The game promises over 60 hours of gameplay and an extensive co-op mode!

Additionally to the new release, we're launching a week-long promo on Spellforce Platinum. You can grab it now, until Tuesday May 31 at 6:59 a.m. EDT, for half the price - only $4.99!
This game is wishlisted...for now. I'm still enjoying the hell out of Witcher 2, so don't expect any sales from me for the next little bit.

Hopefully the expansion will be added later.
Finally, after 2 years!

GOG has been good with things like that sometimes in the past, so I have high hopes.

One of the things I love about buying games on GOG is that they tend to be fully patched and include any and all expansions. It just feels good getting the whole game (plus a lot of extras, most of the time), so it's too bad if that isn't the case this time. But I'm confident that GOG will be able to add any expansions later :)

jimthev: If you are going to turn the car around to run over that troll that was throw to the side of the road but keeps walking into the middle of the street, then I'll call shotgun.
Not a troll.......but I love the Stay Tuned reference.

Fenixp: Oh calm down for christ's sake, we're on the interwebz, not to mention they added that nice ignore thingy into account settings
He's been teasing me all morning, and possibly was part of those who were getting my main temp banned for no reason. But yes, we should all calm down I guess. +1

@Those gripping about the lack of expansion:

It's not what you would like to pay, it's what the market will bear.

You might be willing to pay a certain amount tops for a game, but if the vast majority of other people are willing to pay more, they will charge more.

Eventually, those who are willing to pay more will have the product and they will have no choice, but to lower the price to sell it to the remainder.

Guess most people would still be willing to pay more than 10$ for the original game plus the expansion and hence, they can only include the original game in a 10$ package.

Anyways, if you are like me, you probably have over 25 games on the backlog so skipping over this one for a while won't kill you.

Eventually, they'll package the original game and the expansion together if they ever provide the expansion (I don't seem to recall a situation where they sold the original game and the expand separately), it's a matter of time before they sell everything in a bundle.

Let's be rational about this :).

But then surely if a game is so new as to be incomplete on GOG and have unreleased expansions then it doesn't belong on here. I don't mind The Witcher 2 being on as it's their baby but this is a bad habit for GOG to get into and the key word has always been OLD. I own Spellforce 2 on disk but if this had included the expansion I would've happily bought it again though I do understand that with it's current market value it'd be beyond GOG's pricing structure, but in that case.... loop back to the start of this paragraph.

Perhaps with Jowood going under GOG wanted to get the game up ASAP to make some money from the product they paid for, or maybe Jowood hassled them into getting it up fast but it still just doesn't feel right.

The game is not new, it was released in 2006. In the past, my friends have mocked me for playing "old" games that were a lot more recent than that relative to the current year ;).

I suppose they could have waited a bit more and packaged the expansion, but the expansion is old too.

The game must have been a big draw to retain it's value for so long.

Frankly, I always found expansions to be overpriced products for what they often provide. They went through all the trouble of creating an engine and then, they want to milk it for all it's worth before having to go back to the drawing boards I guess.

Will the expansion be released later though? And if it will, that would be the first time an expansion pack that requires the original game will be released by itself? Or will they at some point just include the expansion pack into the full game, so that everyone who have already bought the game will get the expansion for free?
Still waiting for a new FPS to be released onto GOG. There is only so many times a person can play through Painkiller and Serious Sam.

IF they add the expansion later, this is how I believe GOG would prefer to handle it. There are a couple other games here also missing their expansions.

I guess it depends on what GOG can negotiate with the publishers. Obviously this time around they couldn't negotiate to include the expansion within that $9.99 price frame. With the uncertainty with Jowood it is hard to know what the future will hold for this one. As I'd like to replicate the version I already own it isn't worth taking the chance at this point in time. If you don't have the game it might be worth a shot.
Not every game pack here at GOG has all expansions/add-ons included, for instance Descent 1 + 2 pack is missing Vertigo expansion for Descent 2. I'm pretty sure there are few others too have missing expansions.

I didn't know that, thanks; it was on my wishlist too..
