Populous404: I feel like GOG community is quite hostile towards newbies. I myself am new, and just looking here, it scares me.
Avoid begging for games, or expecting free games, and you should be ok. As long as you don't come here because "i have heard people give free game", you should be treated like a normal human being.

It's only the freebies expectation, that triggers waves of hatred. Most newcomers don't even get the opportunity to notice it.

Psyringe: Actually, the GOG community is one of the most generous and friendly I've ever seen on the net (and I've been around quite a bit). However, we recently had an infestation with people who never actually wanted to become part of this community, but just saw it as a means to exploit others' generosity and grab some free games.

Newbies are still welcomed with open arms, but should probably refrain from begging for games, at least until they've got a standing and/or have shown genuine interest in the community.
Indeed. I don't drop codes anymore because I got irritated by people who literally have no rep, I've never seen on the boards and couldn't be bother to acknowledge that they took the code, let alone say thank you.

Yeah, it's great! When I was away they came and took my electronics and furniture for cleaning. What a great community!! They said they'd let me know when the stuff was ready. :)

I have been waiting almost a year for them to return mine. I don't really feel like bringing it up though as they charged me very little for cleaning all my valuables. They are really dedicated to the job for it to be taking this long though.
