I feel You bro!:)
I just can't play those modern titles, they REALLY are so boring. I recently found out Sid Meier's Covert Action [thanks to Kikoskia] and has a sh.. load of fun with it. While modern games just bore me.
From the 'recent' titles Lego Indiana Jones was awesome, while LIJ2 was a major letdown.
When it comes to 2010 games.. i only wait for the Space Quest 2 remake. Even Fallout 3 bored me, i'm not even counting on New Vegas to be something much more.
I think i'll replay The Last Ninja once more.. NOW.
BTW.
We appreciate the same era of gaming!
Judging by Your avatar, You have already found the Grail. ;D

Oh yes, Jagged Alliance is absolutely FANTASTIC. It's the game i've spent most time on, no doubt. It has a great replayability, and it's great fun every time i play it. :D

Yohansen: Okay, to put one thing clear. It may seem from my post that all i do is gaming, wich is wrong ;) Games is something i like to do when i got some spare time, entertainment, just like watching a movie.
But i think my problem is that there are to many games these days, so many games i would like to try. I buy them, start playing, then something new comes out, so i have to buy that to, wich i then ofcourse have to try. It's an endless cycle :) I don't give the games enough time before i swich to another one. I will check out some of the games recomended earlier in this thread. Planescape: Torment looks very good.

Here you go. Cure for all your troubles. ;)
Taking a break from gaming tends to happen automatically to me. I will not start, not even think of a game for 3, 4, 5 or more weeks, and only really notice it when I go back to playing one. Sometimes, no game will entertain you.
Other than that I agree that you're probably playing the wrong games. I play a lot of old games as well, I probably play a lot more pre-1998 than post-1998 games, but I don't think there's a lack of good new games. A lot of what you say sounds like pure nostalgia, which you also admit pretty directly. The games didn't necessarily entertain you more because they were better or more innovative, but because of the circumstances. I often try to look objectively at old games and find that virtually everything people complain about when they bash "today's games industry" really also applies to the titles back in the day. Possibilities grew and with them our expectations, rightly so, and I admit I would also like to see more developers exploring these possibilities, but I also see many convincing projects.

Yeah, played it alot a couple of years ago, it's a goodie :)
Not tempted by any games!? Then you must be curious about them if you are still buying them?
Curious? Yes.. Tempted to play the games all the way? No..
I might have sent the wrong message with my topic, but the thing is, i got like 200 games wich i've barely played, and i'm not tempted to play any of them for some reason.. It all falls back to some old classics that i've played through years ago.
