Even if you are addicted to a MMO it will probably wear off in a few years anyway if you aren't beaten to death by a chair first.

i think an addiction is something that you develop a physical dependence on. I believe you cant get addicted to something like a video game,TV or the internet. If you cant quit playing a game or whatever than you are just weak willed or your lying to yourself.

Why the crap didn't that security guard intervene? Why didn't he at least call the police? He knew it was the parent's only child. He knew the kid was going to freaking die! That's a really great time to step in, get fired (and possibly beaten), and attract a lot of media attention like what we're seeing now.

I took there informal survey and I'm not an addict. The questions ask the same thing or ask three different things in one question. Here are some of the questions.

I was only able to read the abstract of the survey to mentioned but it mentioned in a survey of 1800 people only 18 could be classified as addicted and two out of three of the tests they mentioned are not official or do not exist. 1.2% makes this a serious problem or so they say.
The website also tries to corroborate internet addiction with causing depression. Here is one of there 9 articles.
