Heh, low rated, LOL, can't stand being called out huh???

With respect to OP, it's entirely normal for an unsophisticated consumer (not saying OP is an unsophisticated consumer) to read "25% sale ends Jan 2" to mean this is the price until Jan 2. Now those with experience with "flash sales" in the middle of other sales are well aware that it doesn't necessarily mean that, but for someone unaware it's perfectly logical to see that advertisement and believe "OK, this is the price until Jan 2." And then, such a person is perfectly within his/her rights to be upset if the price changes (up or DOWN) before Jan 2.

Put it this way, had the exact same thing happened on Jan 3 (Steam dropped the price even lower) then the OP would have no standing to complain, as the sale price did in fact last until Jan 2.

But in today's world, it's anything goes baby, and if you're not sophisticated or in the know about such things, then by Dog that's your fault. Because we shouldn't be critical demanding consumers, we should pick "teams" and be fans and support them no matter what.

What's low rated is the intelligence of the consumer today.

Oh, and get off my lawn... :)

low rated
But of course, certainly, and essentially, on steam, it is only NATURAL to be the customers' fault. Just being there, simply using THAT service... *THAT*, is our (mine too...) fault... Fatal error.

Not only concerning issues and support...

Even GOG does flash deals...

I remember when GOG gave away discount coupons for specific games during last year's winter sale. The coupon was good so I bought System Shock 2 right away. On the same day System Shock 2 appeared as a daily deal with even better discount. That's how digital retailers do the sales: daily deals, flash deals, long term deals.

You should check this picture.

Yeah, I'm sure some game I bought at 50% off has since gone on steeper sale. That's the nature of the beast, just enjoy your game...
It's no one's fault. Price discrimination is perfectly fine, it helps subsidise low purchasing power buyers' discounts in a non coercive way. It started in airline ticket sales, which can be quite abusive when it comes to refunds, etc... but not on the pricing discrimination itself. Bottom line, you are not entitled to a fixed price through time, it's your problem if you feel you need that to be happy buying, though I'm sure there are shops willing to guarantee prices (usually higher), so take your pick between deeper uncertain discounts for some, or higher certain prices for all. This is similar to complaining how prices were lower in the old times, while ignoring that inflation is planned to subsidize consumption now over saving of money for later (and therefore assist govs indebt easier). Economics and time preference... there's something I wish schools would educate about...

Pretty much. I'm happy that I got a game I wanted at 50% off! Thats a lot of money saved!
If you want the maximum discount you should only get a game early if it's part of a time-limited deal since that game won't be getting a larger discount within the same sale period. Any games that aren't part of a special deal can be collected on the last day of the sale. This applies to both Steam and GOG.

GOG often has the special discounts available twice within the same sale period; the discount is identical both times so you don't lose anything by buying it at its first appearance.
I'm afraid I really have to lol at your "This kind of sales stunt aren't very good PR you know" comment.

Yeah I'm sure this shit is just killing them
I bought Divinity Dragon Commander without waiting for a discount, but I have not play it yet.

Now it is less then $10, is it my fault?

I bought Mount & Blade for $7.50 on Steam and then got it for free from GOG. I bought Fallout (my first GOG purchase) and then GOG gave it free. I bought The Witcher and GOG gave it for free. Hardly played these games. I really should stop buying games. Err, I mean, it's all Steam's and GOG's fault! I'm going to sue!

Ah yes! how can I forget that! age must have done funny things with my memory. I would like to add dungeon keeper to the rooster too. I even bought a copy of it as a gift despite never playing it before, but heard great things about it and think it is a good gift, then GOG dare give free copies of DK and render my gift meaningless.

And there this age of wonder too

Not to mention the thousands I poured into crowdfunding and hardly played any of them even though games like wasteland 2 is already released. It must be all the fanbois fault, writing nice review or sharing some very interesting project with me.

It is not the fault of my self control, it is all these people tempting me.

Edit: Oh Dang it, they are giving the ultima games free RIGHT NOW. This is unacceptable, I must sue them, I never had the chance to play my purchase and they are giving them FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

rtcvb32: It's paraphrased. Thinking about it now it might have been closer as 'And this game is 80% off, like it is on every single steam sale' or something really close to that. Actually I could probably start adding more and more phrases from him.

I don't know, I just like TB's voice and general attitude regarding ethnics in gaming. I've watched most of his WTF's and currently listening to him and cox banter on Terraria (like 3 years ago).
I know, I know. I generally like the guy. He seems to be pretty grounded. But I don't watch his stuff regulary. Here & there. I'm not really a fan of a whole "Youtube persona" thing. :)

I don't watch that many people... Mostly because i can't log in so i can't subscribe to keep track of them...

Being down to earth and giving useful opinions with regards to the customer's interests first definitely is a good thing. But he also has a good voice too. And the audio is almost always clean, when videos have static, white noise, badly recorded, wind, etc, there's a decent chance i won't watch them. I really don't like turning up my speakers to high decibels because they couldn't take the time to normalize their audio or clean it up.

Perhaps also the target audience is an important bit. TB treats everyone like an adult who's just curious on something. I've seen some on camping that the way they talk it's like they are talking to 8 yearolds, interesting facts or making it seem like they are giving you an illusion of choice on something when they aren't.

Another big one i usually watch is Dave Canterbury, very good videos and content... Also good voice and has a good system for how to talk and go over a topic so you don't feel like he just wasted your time.

Probably a big reason i'll never watch PewDiePie.
