Quick thought to the people, I find it much harder to get into games these days, and more specifically getting past the one hour hump.

It has been a while since I really just enjoyed a game (DK1 and DK2 a couple of months ago) and I feel my attention waning after just a few minutes of starting a game. I thought this was just because I had little time and too many game ("Why play this one when I could be playing that one!!!)

But upon starting my semi-failed book club experiment with Martian dreams, the simple fact that I had posted on the forums that I would play it pushed me enough to get past the first hour and then I started enjoying it. I still need time to play it but I actually want to play it, even though I don't know where to go next.

Does anyone else have this problem, and if so how do they get past the first hour?

They play better games ? :)
And here I thought this thread was going to be about your sexual prowess... :P

Yeah, I have this issue sometimes. I either just move to a different game (sometimes this just indicates I'm not in the mood for that particular game), or I set aside a block of 2 to 3 hours for gaming where I know I won't be disturbed and just fire it up and play.
I think it has a lot to do with what we are comfortable with - especially interface wise. I totally wrote off the Witcher the first time I played it shortly after starting the game. The interface was just so different. Only after giving it a second chance months later and getting to know and master the interface did I really enjoy that great game.
