Fellow GoGers,

I am looking for Quake II Mission Pack: Ground Zero. Except for on eBay, the only other place I can (legally) find it, is on Impulse. The problem is the dreaded "not available in your region" monster.

I posted on the Impulse forum for help (http://forums.impulsedriven.com/406550), but no luck so far. I was wondering if a fellow GoGer could help me out :-)
Steam has it with both expansions I think.
It does. Well worth it, too.

You just have to get it running no modern OSs.......Vista/7 can run it just fine using a port like JQuake/etc...but the expansions are tricky to get working with ports/newer OSs.

Ugh, I always surf the web for another deal and consider piracy before breaking down and using steam. I'm now looking at oblivion w/ all dlc, you can't get that deal anywhere (ease and price) but loging in to play?

There's no drm on the steam versions though. Just like their retro games.

When I try to buy, I get: "Your transaction failed because you are trying to buy a game that requires ownership of another game you do not currently own. Please correct the error and try again."

The Quake 2 expansions are just extra content paks. You'll need the base Quake 2 game to play them. Steam probably just won't sell them to you unless you already have Quake 2 on Steam even though you could add them to any old copy of Quake 2.
I do not feel like buying Quake II on Steam just to get the expansion :-( Will someone here be willing to gift the expansion to me on Impulse as stated in my first post? :-)

The price for it combined is still cheap though compared to buying a hard copy with shipping/etc added on...just consider you're buying the expansion and getting the base game for free.
doom 1 is worldwide on impulse ...
So, just to clarify: if someone can gift me the game on Impulse, I will transfer the money via PayPal, or gift a game (of the same amount) back on Impulse or here on GoG or GamersGate :-)

I bit the bullet, and bought the games on Steam. I do not like the idea of being online just to play the games, but I guess it is a small price to pay :-/

No need to be online. You can download/install the game, and run Steam in offline mode to play. Or you could crack the .EXEs and not use Steam ever again.
or move the data files to another folder and use a better modified engine, which is what most people do nowadays.
