Hi... Something very odd is happening with my Witcher 2 game... I recently played it past the Kayran stage successfully without any problems, that is before my hardrive crashed and I had to start the game again.

This time after I got a new hardrive I installed the game with no problems at all and then I got to the Kayran Part and this time: (SPOILER WARNING)

For some reason the Kayran won't break down the building completely even after I cut off all 4 of the tentacles that I was supposed to... He just keeps sweeping me up onto one of the remaining two tentacles that cant be cut off and after I spam click to fall off, Sile keeps shouting that he is about to break free and this is all that keeps happening the whole time... and having played this part before successfully I am well aware that the Kayran is supposed to break down the building so that I can climb up on the rubble and plant the bomb in him... but it doesnt go to that part at all and now I cant go further in the game!

Does anyone possibly know why this could be? Please help me!!!

Concerning the Kayran it seems like a bug, you shouldn't cut four tentacles, after you cut the third one, there is a QTE on which you ride the fourth that's when he breaks the bridge and that debris falls on him (or her?)

I had a similar issue with version 1.1, where I miss the "tentacle riding" QTE but still survive, I had to reload to be able to finish the fight.

Wow thanks for the help Gersen... would patching it with 1.2 not work maybe? Or do I have to reinstall the whole game?

I don't think it has something to do with the patch, retry the fight and, just after you destroy the third tentacle the Kayran will do a swipe attack with the fourth, there you should have the "press left button" QTE indicator on it (it's sometime hard to see)

Nope, I just replayed it now for a 3rd time and it keeps doing the same thing and I keep getting swept up again and after falling off the tentacle he does that heart-shaped thing with his tentacles and then Sile shouts again that he is about to break loose. so it's stuck in that scene all the time...

Definitely a weird bug then... you should try reloading a previous, older, savegame to see if the issue is still here. Also you should re-ask your question in the Witcher 2 forum maybe somebody had the same issue.
