wraith? how old are you? In last decade there were bigger tragedies.
anyhow
Seems it is pilots and maybe president's fault.
they attempted four times. and were advised to go back. Pilot didn't listen and tried to land.
President might have been at fault as he might have pressured pilot to land. It happened before but last time in Kazakhstan pilot refused. Had big troubles afterward.
either way pilot should have known better and realize that up there he is the president and he decides whether to land or not.
If he had wife and children i feel sorry for them :(
Absolute tragedy, my thoughts and prayers are with the families and the People of Poland. My heart aches for you.

He had a wife. She died on the plane, too. Any children they may have had are orphans now, that's terrible.
Turns out they had a daughter. She's 30.

Obviously, but I don't remember any single tradegy off hand that claimed the lives of such a large portion any one nations governing elite.
My condolences to the polish people and all who lost loved ones in the tragedy.

I'm 26. What I meant by politcally was in the fact that it pretty much decimated quite a bit of the top tier of Poland's government, which, as far as I can recall, is pretty much unprecedented.
Condolences to the people of Poland and the families of the dead.
I've been trying to think of any equivalent incident where so much of a nation's government and military leadership were killed, and I can't come up with anything. Just astounding.
Wow...
My condolences to the people of Poland, and to those who have lost family or friends. May these weary souls find rest, and for the people to treasure the time they did have with them.
My condolences to the polish posters and GOG staff.
It's odd how this touched me a bit. I mean, I saw it on Yahoo before checking my e-mail, just read the headline and went "bummer", then quickly went on about my business. It just felt like something bad happened to some far away president on some far away country and I didn't give it that much thought. Then when I come over here and see this thread, I remember that GOG is a polish company and there are many polish posters here and all of a sudden I can't help feeling somewhat more connected with the situation and feeling it's tragic. I guess on the internet no country is really that far away and you meet people from all over the world every day. Knowing it happened to people you usually post with makes it feel closer to home.
I hope it all turns out okay for you folks. Some guy who didn't expect it in a thousand years is now president and plenty of things can happen. Here's to hoping they all happen for the best.
My condolences to the people of Poland, here and everywhere.
My hones condolences and best hopes for the future to all you guys and girls in Poland! Truly a tragic event.
It's somewhat strange that so many important figures were allowed to travel on a single plane since this wasn't the first time something along these lines has happened. Heck, even my company has a policy that only 6 employees can travel on the same flight and only 2 executives.
Perhaps Russia should offer to lend some governance?
(too soon.. too soon.. sorry.. <smacks self in face>)

He had just visited Lithuania and was shown on the TV. The other day this tragedy happened :(
Our poor neighbors. :(

I didn't want to type anything more than the frown that I'm feeling--but gog.com made me.
