tb87670: Darwinism still works and isn't failing us, society just doesn't allow it to get to work anymore. Nowadays everyone must be "nurtured" no matter their deficiencies and we wonder why every generation's general populace slips a few IQ points.

Snickersnack: That's what I thought too but the Flyn Effect begs to differ.
I'm not sure I buy it.

Topic has been hijacked temporarily for this announcement: Flynn effect has bee tossed out the window a long time ago. General IQ's change with the IQ tests, but as of late people have been rapidly deteriorating in intelligence and it's blatantly obvious.
Now back to topic, Steam account hacks are 99% of the time not really hacks, just key-stealing programs or someone obtaining that info from you. No need to worry about them if you don't tell anyone your password and Steam account name.

KavazovAngel: I'm sorry to say this, but you failed there, dude. :p

trusteft: Well said and hilarious.

Okay, you guys gave me my 15 minutes fame, could you please stop it now?
This sounds like an innocent mistake. I get password reset emails all the time from sites like Wikia and the like. People think a particular name was theirs and so ask for a reset email to regain access to it.
Regardless of whether it's innocent or malicious, just ignore them all anyway.

Tantrix: *Shrug* What do you expect when 12 year olds register on steam? Failing is the first step towards growing up? The last one with the links on the chatbox were pretty new to me since I ain't much of a Steam user later on. Do me a favor and edit the quote out, I hate myself for posting this.
And Jacob...just go fuck yourself.

Language! Kids these days.
Let me teach you a pretty good life lesson: Don't steal stuff until you are smart enough to get away with it. If you are learning how to do something from Youtube, it is probably not a good sign.

This is absolute hooey. If anything the average intelligence levels seem to be on the rise, but it's basically useless to draw any conclusions because A) there isn't enough reliable data and B) the concept of intelligence is clumsily defined anyway.
People weren't any smarter 50, 100, or 500 years ago to say the least. With todays (general) level of education, attempts at introducing creationism in schools notwithstanding, the level of enlightenment and hence the expectation for average intelligence to increase has never been higher.
Raising intelligence or a biological level will take thousands of years. Whatever seems to have happened in the last generation can be neglected, as it is based on intermittent social factors and hence inferior to the biological factors that take centuries to develop.

stonebro: snip.

Or it could be there's more people running around nowadays than 50 years ago, and we see more idiots than they did in the old days. Whatever the reason there are more than a fair share of idiots running around and we're worse for it.
