The Pro Pinball Kickstarter failed with $174,010 pledged by 1,296 backers. The goal was $400,000. They had a nice boost near the end of the campaign, but ultimately it was not enough.

Maybe they should try again, but with a lowered goal of $250,000

Yes, people have brought up that idea in the comments. However, Silverball Studios have said that since they have to create a new engine first, they would only be able to remake one of the old tables for ~ $240,000. Subsequent tables would be much cheaper to make once they have the new engine. I'm not sure if people would fund a $250,000 project to recreate an old table in a new engine though.

I thought their tier for the two old pinball games (i think they were like $1 each) was a great deal. I have no idea how many tables they have made, or how many they want to make.

But i do believe that they could get the funding. If they can make one table for around $200,000 then i would think its worth doing. Surely they could self fund, or get outside funding in addition to the kickstarter funds?

I believe seeking outside funding is what they are going to try next. They still want to bring back the series, but from reading their comments it doesn't sound like they want to attempt another Kickstarter.

That's fair enough, as i think projects like the obsidian kickstarter and the rest of the large scale games are where peoples money have gone. I think there is only so much crowd money to go around. We might start seeing a decline in funding, who knows?
Looks like they're going after Kickstarter again, with a more streamlined campaign, according to this interview:

Shame I've just got an Android :(
Lol, they should just go with IndieGoGo and a stretch campaign (all money gathered goes for the project)

I don't know why they need so much money for better lightning and resolutions.
keeveek: It's not "better lighting and resolutions"; they're going to rewrite the entire game/simulation engine, and as a cross-platform project which needs to support several very different platforms.

They already have the original four tables designed, of course, but I suspect those designs, the music, and the sound effects are the only things they're keeping as-is. I think everything else is either being enhanced or completely recreated.
