So this is a question for modders, mostly for moders of Elder Scrolls or Fallout games. I've always been interested in being a voice actor, I've done a bit here and there for high school purposes but I'd love to try something in the video game realm.

So my question(s) is(are) how would I go about doing this? I've got recording equipment, a good mic, recording software, I just don't know where to look for someone whose looking for voice actors...

Maybe one of you are? How would I make a portfolio so to speak of my... well speaking (that's a joke...)

Any help would be much appreciated.

EDIT: I specifically called out Elder Scrolls and Fallout because I know those games better than other big modding games...

I guess you should search for the WIP (work-in-progress) mods and get in touch with the people involved with them. So your best bet would be ModDB & Nexus. I trust you already made the same question on Steam forums, right? If not, i think it you should do it, after all Steam has many of the TES games. ;-)

The Dark Mod developers might be interested, if that isn't too far from the RPGs you named; see under http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/13648-how-can-i-help/

Baldur's Gate (and Infinity Engine games in general) have active modding communities which will be interested. Your best bet is to make a post on the forums and see if any need voice actors.

Another place to check is the TTLG Thief forums. The Thief series is still being modded actively, and they may like knowing of another voice actor they can use.

There is a thread over there titled Available voice actors that may be a good place to start.
If I were you I'd consider working on an audio drama (if VA is something you really want to do).
Theres a fair revival of it these days with a lot of free to download, high quality shows. if nothing else, getting a part in one will give you a pretty good reference for other work - just as well as mods.
