They're worth the high price? I'm thinking about buying an Deathadder. Have anyone here used this model? What's your oppinion about it?

Edit: Or maybe you can reccomend a awesome mouse you purchased? I don't care if it's Razer or not, I'm just looking for a good mouse to play games.

I use a Deathadder and I love it!
I have several, it's the lowest grade gaming mouse that you should consider buying (none of the cheaper ones are built well).

It's sturdy, very sensitive, and comfortable to use. It also has 5 buttons and a good scrollwheel.

I have 2 and I made my work buy me one for my computer there (costs as much as an "office" mouse and is about 20 times better).
I have a Deathadder also and it's comfortable (for a righty), I'd recommend it.

Always best to find a store - Best Buy or whomever - and get "hands on" with it and see if you like it. You don't have to buy it there, just test drive it.

Not all of Razor's stuff is good, so don't accept a substitute. I originally got a Lachesis and hated it, it's some kind of funky design where they tried to make one for both righty's and lefty's, I think. I returned it in less than an hour and got the Deathadder.

I personally would promote the Steelseries products. I have an Ikari, as I wanted something simple and basic but that would still perform very well. I have had it over a year now, and I absolutely love it.

I've used the Merc keyboards, they make very robust products, well worth the money you put into them.

lukipela: I would buy the steelseries if they lowered the price. i cant justify that much for a peripheral.
They're kind of like buying expensive leather shoes, yeah, they're more expensive, but they really are better and last much longer. It's really a matter of taste whether you get a cheaper device that maybe doesn't last as long or the more expensive one that you replace less often. If you find your cheaper periphs still last 5+ years then you're gentle enough that it probably doesn't matter.

Although you may be looking at a different product, the optical Ikari seems to be running roughly the same as a Deathadder. People seem to gasp when I mention I am not using a laser mouse, but honestly, both types work wonderfully and the tracking has been just fine. It saved money as well, and allowed me to splurge in other areas.

Have you considered any of the Logitech mice? They do not carry the "gaming" brand as Razer and Steelseries do, but they make extremely solid mice. My previous mouse was a laser G5 (now the G500) from Logitech, and it held up incredibly well for quite some time. I honestly only changed because I felt like trying something new. I also hear good things about the Logitech G9x (marked down atm on Amazon), but I have not had it myself to personally recommend.

Those are my two brand choices at least when it comes to gaming and mice.

Razer mice vary greatly in terms of quality/ergonomics. People have already mentioned the Lachesis as being a poorly designed mouse, and I tend to agree.

I personally use the Razer Naga, which I feel is nice, though I don't use the buttons on the side except for a handful of games and tasks. It has a nice fit and moves very smoothly on my mousepad (which, incidentally is a Razer Megasoma).

I also have a Razer Mamba, which is kinda nifty because it is both a wireless and wired mouse, but the wireless receiver is REALLY bulky (it has roughly half the footprint of the Mamba mouse itself). It also has the tendency to tilt on its side a tiny bit on some surfaces.
They are fantastic. I have two (a Krait, simple mouse with three buttons and a Naga, a mouse with 17 buttons) and they are great. I don't use them just for gaming, but I use them for anything. Very good stuff.
I had a diamondback 3G back before and I now have a Abyssus that was gifted with my laptop.
However, I don't think I would recommend Razer (I bought a Nova personnally after the Diamondback died).
Apparently they have a recurrent problem with the lasers and they "die" after some time. (first the mouse starts acting very strangely, like moving on its own at times).
So unless they finally fixed that, I wouldn't recommend a razer, thought apart from that, they are great mices. (But I love my Nova even more, the design might look odd at first though).

Fucking get it... why are you still reading this message, go get it nao!

I bought it like few days ago... I wanna have sex with it!

Yea, its that good! :D
Had a Razer a few years back. Didn't last very long (buttons got flaky) and it wasn't the most comfy thing to use. Switched to Logitech and been happy since. However, that was just one Razer model and the others might very well be the bee's knees. As with all stuff like this, where you have a physical hands-on interface with the device, I suggest trying one out for yourself to see if it's going to fit your hand. Not easy to do with these boutique names, tho.
The build quality is generally pretty good. But I found the clicking noise my Diamondback 3G makes to be annoying. Not so much the click as the weird grating sound that accompanied it. But it was the drivers I found to be too lacklustre. Generally the standard Windows drivers were a lot better. Just without support for the extra buttons.

Now I've got a Steelseries Xai and I couldn't be more happy with it. The mouse settings are firmware so you don't even need to set it up for a new PC.
