Whats worse is that title, "Steam Edition" If Nordic Games never left and released this game here they would not called it the Steam Edition :(

I regret not buying Red Faction 1 and 2 sooner. Now I have to get it on Steam: GOG do something and get Nordic Games back. Undo whatever you guys did that make them left in the first place.
I hate when they call games Steam Edition and not even release it on any other platform besides the consoles....

first red faction was still better imo

Wanna know whats worse I am tempted to get the first 2 games because of the sale prices.

And what if in the future Nordic Games does comeback. I already made the wrong choice buying Dark Forces 1 a week prior to the release of the LucasArts Catalog.
Yeah, I'm downloading it since an hour ago ^_^

There's nothing wrong with that title, this new version drops Games For Windows LIVE completely and includes many new features and improvements, plus complete Steam integration (that's the reason of the new title), like achievements, leaderboards and cards:

Still what gets me is that calling this a Steam Edition implies that Nordic Games left because they think all they need is Steam.

Wanna know the funny thing is? Red Faction 1 and 2 are still Priced a $9.99 on Steam. The same price here, So what was the problem that made the left in the first place if it was not the Pricig of GOG?

Guerilla has been on Steam for years and the reason it's called "Steam Edition" now is because they just updated it to use Steamworks instead of GFWL apparently. It's good that they've renamed it to underline that fact.

Sorry about that it because PC gamer's headline said this:

According to Nordic's response in the thread back then it's something to do with the non-static pricing GOG will be using now which can change based on currency fluctuations (happened once already), which would cause unfair treatment between GOG and their other countless publishing deals for their ~35 games and this would need communication every time it happened, which would create such a workload that it wasn't worth it it seems.

That's how I read it anyway.

Twice, actually. At least for UK residents and Russians.
I am interested to know if they will be giving steam keys to people who own the game on platforms other than Steam, as Warner Brothers did with Batman: Arkham Asylum. I brought it from Impulse (which has become Gamestop Now), and I do not believe that version is getting updated so switching to the Steam version would be nice.

I believe you have to e-mail them about it. As they bought the IP from THQ they do not have a full list of Product key's and are thus unable to provide such a service to everyone.
It is about time they updated it. I had the original steam version. Can't say I ever had a problem with it mind you. GFWL is still not as bad as people like to make it out to be. It was a god send compare to starforce drm.
For anyone who might be interested, I contacted Nordic Games support, and after supplying evidence that I owned the game they were happy to give me a steam key. If you are in the same position I was you should have little difficulty getting the steam version from them.
I didn't really care too much for the other Red Faction games but I found good fun in this one. Using the destruction engine to get in and out of enemy bases (or to just clown around) made for some pretty dynamic gameplay. The GFWL crap was a killer though, so I'm thankful they've finally gotten rid of that.
