The classic hack&slash saga continues!

Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms, a dark hack&slash-type action-rpg with an original story and imaginative gameworld, is available at -20% for Windows, DRM-Free on GOG.com, with Book 1 available right now, and Book 2 planned for February 2015.

Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms is the next chapter of the Heretic Kingdoms saga, set a few years after the events of Kult: Heretic Kingdoms, players are caught up in a terrible conspiracy and propelled upon an epic journey through a world of dark fantasy. Epic battles and unexpected plot twists await those brave enough to rise to the challenge! Take control of the Devourer, a demon that swallows the souls of the dead and brings them back into the mortal realm as puppets. But is the demon their master – or their servant?

If you played the classic Kult: Heretic Kingdoms (also known as Heretic Kingdoms: Inquisition, -50% in our sale right now!), if you enjoy dark fantasy stories full of demonic powers and ominous magic, or simply if you enjoy slicing and dicing through hordes of enemies, you should check out Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms with a special -20% promo for the first week on GOG.com!

gandalfnho: Well, decided to get the game now, even with a huge backlog and another game already using my active RPG slot in the moment
I think you need to upgrade your breastplate to a +1 version which allows two RPG slots and a better armour class

First of all, nothing changes for the next couple of months.
It is a preliminary bankruptcy. The banks and other creditors will now take over finance and see if they can bring them up to speed.

p.s. actual this guy takes over the finance: Dr. Robert Schiebe

I hope so. After what happened with Venetica...

Oh shit. I didn't think the game was bad?
It's not. Just the publisher was a bad choice. bitComposer had it coming for a long time due to its c...y customer service and after the two Jagged Alliance games that failed hard.

Also almost no marketing for this or any of their better games.

They also say in the article, the last couple of months they franticly released half finished titles, this was probably not a good idea for the branch? :)

Anyway, as far as I played Shadows, it looked pretty complete (chapter I only, before I got hooked by Eador).
So the developer is still fine, just the publisher done goofed?

Hopefully that means the rest of the Jagged Alliances that are Steamerika exclusives will get over here.

The only Jagged Alliance games missing from here, are Back in Action and Flashback, which are not published by bitComposer.

Daw, well, there was to hoping.

Hopefully the developers can ride through it.

You forgot JA: Crossfire. And the situation is even worse when it comes to the publishing rights for JABIA and JA: Crossfire. Those two games are co-published: one publisher is bitComposer, the other is Kalypso.

Jagged Alliance: Flashback is the big winner here. The game is self-published by the devs.

Crossfire is the stand-alone expansion to Back in Action, which is why I didn't mention it. Kalypso seems to be self-publishing the game on GamersGate, but bitComposer is publishing the game on retail.
Edit: Actually scratch that last part. Kalypso seems to be co-publishing the game on retail, as well. Wow, what a mess.
