Right. If it was bought here then it should be supported here like anything else. However, if a game is no longer offered for sale here, that likely means that the publisher is going to be less likely to issue special patches or really any patch here than previous.

For old games that's probably not an issue, but if a game that's still receiving patches like Postal 2 might be a problem. But, I'm sure that Running With Scissors loves us, so we're coo'.

i tried for some removed from the catalog (either the recent ones / either some from a long date)

ie : the guild serie or second sight (first case it's a recent removal , second it's an old removal)

in short it seems you can create only a ticket for games currently in the catalog ( i didn't tested all games removed and i can't anyway)

You cant say fairer than that, if you bought a game in a street shop you would have to go to the devs for support, well done GOG! :)

I have a folder named games which my Paypal notifications and GoG receipts go into. Digital receipts of this level are so easy to lose track of.... and deleting them seems... moronic...

I just ignore my receipts altogether to be fair. I don't delete them per se, I also don't see any reason to keep hold of them either - worst case scenario, I pirate/crack my purchased games. Unless it's especially gruesome and affects a lot of other customers, going into legal dispute over my videogames seems like a waste of my precious time.

As a guy who worked in customer service, my advice to everyone is always to KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS, whether your purchase is online or offline.

I'm not sure if legal dispute is what I'd be worried about. More along the lines of headaches to get the game back in my library if something happens to remove it...

Besides, moving them to my games folder is effectively ignoring them 99% of the time. I can't recall the last time i actually looked in that dusty folder :P

Back to the original topic, I experienced something alike on a different website years ago when I needed support. Can someone add anything to this kind of problem in general? Is it common practice to, as far as possible, ignore user problems to be more cost effective? I always had big trust in GOG and never needed any support, but now that my library contains 62 games more than half of which I did not even play to this very day, this makes me nervous.

For me, it's easier to just go to the bay of yarrr and get it there than going trough the whole process of contacting support - unless there's a mass disappearance of games on my account anyway, in which case, I suppose I'd have to do a lot of email searching :-P Still, I rarely replay games, so it's questionable whether I'd even notice such disappearance. I suppose there's a reason why do I have such a low price ceiling for videogames :D

Beside having an own folder for bills in your mail account I would recommend to everyone to create a filter rule for shops you use more often, then you don't need to move them by hand and you see easily if the bill arrived. Easy to create and to handle, not clutter in your mail account and you can keep track of everything much easier.

Which is nice and also important, but don't help you when a game was updated and you can't download the patch or updated version because the game is missing on your shelf ;-)
