But of course, this is clearly a conspiracy intended to increase exports of Norwegian skiing equipment.
It was reported here in Norway, with good humor. A somewhat dubious translation by Google can be found here. They appear to have trouble with some of the longer scientific words such as høyenergistråle, kvantestråle or kortbølgesendere (should be translated to "high energy beam", "quantum beam" and "short-wave transmitters" respectively).
